    Nitrous Outlet Gen V Kit.

So I just ordered a Gen IV-V specific N/O kit at a sizable discount (I was able to negotiate N/O catalogs at our MOPAR fests and aftermarket accessories department at my dealership promoting MOPAR specific Nitrous Outlet kits and accessories)

I had been debating on running a separate fuel cell/pump such as the NX 1 gallon, but have decided to just use the provided kits plug and play in-between adapter with FP safety switch of course.

I see there are a lot of Nitrous threads for older Gen's, but only 2 or so that I could find on our Gen Vs....

Just wondering if anyone can chime in with experience on running a 200 wet shot on these engines, I don't see 20hp per cylinder with forged internals providing too much inner-stress on the engine components...

I will also be utilizing my old tried and true DynoTune Nitrous Multi-Function Nitrous Controller (Before they sold the design to NOS) and need to know what wires to tap for TPS and RPM.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Pick up your rpm at the coil pack drivers under the eng covers. For throttle position, just go directly to the oem tps.

Where are you getting fuel. The oem fuel pump is marginal at 100 plus hp.

Going to be running a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump on a 200 shot tuned, shouldn't have any issues with fueling

200 shot is no big deal, the motor will swallow it with ease. However I would run a fuel cell with C16. I've done well over 40 passes on a 250 and 300 shot.

XS, once you get the Nitrous installed, I'd like to get a ride in your car. I work in Long Beach.

I will be more than happy brother, if you have full coverage insurance I don't mind letting you drive it yourself! Just be a lil easy on her mate.

PM me for my cell # I live in LB as well.

Thanks for the feedback, where did you mount your Fuel Cell? I saw Junkie's install behind the passenger side headlight, haven't had a chance to pull that cover off but I'm guessing it's got a bit of space to work with.

I mounted the cell in the same place as junkie.

What fuel cell did you end up running? I was considering the NX premade but seems like i could make it a lot cheaper on my own.

    Thanks.

Awesome to hear! How did your clutch hold up? Did your trans ever give you a hassle 1-2 hard shifts?

Your thread on N20 is very valuable and has been a staple in my research thus far regarding Nitrous on the Gen V, thank you for the input.

So for those doing N2O setups... are you using the stock fuel system? (stock is returnless, correct?) Or are you swapping to a return-style setup? Or just a fuel cell for running on spray? Really thinking about adding a small shot to the car over winter just for fun...

Stock fuel system. Just added the fuel cell with it's own pump and regulator.

    Shameless Bump...

Will be posting a detailed DIY thread on a Gen V nitrous and Boost-A-Pump install for the forums..I received my Nitrous Outlet gen V specific plate kit with 15lb bottle. Got to figure out mounting for bottle and firewall pass-throughs for the lines and wiring..

I'll be using my old DynoTune Nitrous Progressive controller that worked great in my 350z 150 shot for WOT switch, progressive ramp, and window switch.. They recently sold out to NOS products it seems for the design based on their website..

Other than that was wondering if anyone had experience running a Boost-A-Pump on Gen Vs? I don't believe a standalone fuel cell/regulator/pump will be necessary for my realistic wet 200hp goals. (20hp per cylinder technically, should be quite reliable with factory forged internals)..If I'm feeling really greedy after safely tuning with the 200 pills I will step up to 250 max, I'll document everything along the way for you all!

Since the similarities in gen 4 and gen 5 are pretty close, if you have installed one on a gen 4 can you shed some light? I really would like to not have to tear apart the car blind looking for access. My Master tech and best viper mechanic at the dealership ( which of course hasn't done a single gen v pump in the 2-3 years it's been out, probably a good thing) Said on earlier generations he would only be able to gain access to wiring from below and had to even cut out portions of the fuel tank cover to gain access.

I would think FCAU would not make such a difficult maintenance task on a commonly high mileage failed item.. but who knows..

Any input would be awesome!! Thanks!

Sounds like you need to put together a show-and-tell with this set up in the Long Beach area. I live in Long Beach too ... count me in. I need some inspiration ... I've been rolling around in an un-modified Gen5 for 9 months.

Should be in the tank, no? But you should only need the feed to the pump anyways right?

Exactly! Where is the fuel pump wiring located? I haven't had a chance to research or pull apart the carpet in the back. I'm assuming it's somewhere in the trunk area?

I did nitrous years ago when I was in college I'm a vette. That was a dry system. What's the difference? Why not just do a 150 shot for fun and keep the car stock.

    In theory this should work.
But you could also very easily run the motor too lean/hot and put holes in pistons.
Using a wet kit with a fuel cell with high octane fuel gives a much larger safe range to utilize.

Anyone have a clue where the FP wiring would be easily located for the boost a pump?

    Thanks

Xslangx, I don't have any experience with a Gen V, but you might want to look up the instructions for the Paxton supercharger install on the Gen III. They use a dual BaP. I realize the cars are different generations, but a lot of the basic architecture is the same. Good luck, I'll be going nitrous eventually as well.

Thanks for the heads up, Ill check it out.

I will definitely be making a detailed DIY thread in hopes to help anyone pursuing the N2O path as well.. I'm surprised someone hasn't made a decent thread in regards to it..

    Oh well, anyways...

Back to the headache of figuring all this stuff out alone! (I will def check out that Gen 3 Paxton install, hopefully it sheds a bit of light)
