    New owner/member 2003 Viper

Just wanted to let everyone know I finally bought my Viper, a red 2003 convertible that's a real beauty. It is completely stock and I purchased it from the original owner. He is a real collector and other than driving it 10 miles a month, the car presents itself as new, including that new car smell. The car has 2000 original miles on it, wow! I feel lucky and blessed to own such a beautiful car and when Reliable Car Carriers delivers it to me soon, I will be posting photo's. I have owned many many cars and am currently the Director of the Hurst/Olds Club of America but have never been this excited about owning a car. It is a real game changer for me and I think I will look at all cars differently now. I joined the VOA today as well and I am looking forward to meeting some other members and having some fun with our cars.

Thanks! The new Viper will not see too many miles. I have 3 other cars so the mileage gets spread around. If I could move the dining room table and bring it in the house that would be ideal

Welcome and Congrats on a the purchase. I too bought my low mileage 2003 from a collector and after 2 yrs. of ownership, my guess is that you will become partial to the Viper. Bet you will be putting more miles on it than you think. Awaiting those pics!

Will you at least promise us a little more than 10 miles per month? Vipers are meant to be driven!! Congrats on your purchase

Congrats. If the original runflats are on there still, replace them ASAP. They were crappy when new, let alone 12 years old. Also, with that low mileage, a complete fluid change (brake, clutch, power steering, etc) would be in order. Make sure the oil cooler lines aren't seeping, and go for it! I think as others have said, you will find yourself driving your Viper more than the other cars.

^^^^ Good advice! We too bought our 2003 Red convertible with 2k on the clock (2010), we now have 21k on her and still feel like it's a low mile car .... man it's been fun! Drive her ..... be careful bugs can hit you in the grin when driving at night

Great advise, thanks! I have been communication with Bill Pemberton and he suggests the same thing. Good to know the Viper owners and vendors have your back. I promise to drive the car and enjoy it. It will definitely be the jewel of my collection, true automotive greatness. I will watch out for those bugs Slithr

If they have 2 H/O's then they probably know me or me them Thanks, can't wait till Friday. I am thinking of ordering "HAS 10" for my vanity plate....what do you think?

He has had them since the late 70's, early 80's. One fully restored with a lot of Mondello parts in the 455; the other all original unrestored. Haven't seen him in a WHILE though. His name is Thomas King. Super nice guy.
"HAS 10" is an excellent choice!
