Anyone else have this happen? Got up to 145 on back straight at Mid Ohio last weekend and felt it come off.
I've had it tightened down several times, lucky it didn't go under the car or hit someone else's car.
Looking to buy a new one now!

Never heard of that. I have an extra but it isn't for sale. Contact Tom Francis for one.
probably installed upside down
I have heard of one breaking off on a "mile" race at over 170 mph or so.
I have 2 extensions, one on the car and a new one in the wrapper but I am unsure if I want to sell one.
Did you recover the old one? How did it come off? Screws came un-done or did it fracture?
I put mine on upside down one time and lost it at 100mph +. I have one in the garage that has a nick out of it where I hit a railroad spike if you are interested. New ones are $$$$.
I put mine on upside down once and came off at 150mph. Was able to recover it and still use it.
Screws are still on. Woodhouse said the same thing, was probably put on upside-down .
Track workers couldn't find it...Wellll I left a present at my favorite track, oh well, haha.
I was driving great too, bummer! Dodged a porsche in front of me with a blown motor and fluids everywhere, my student went off track later in the day, then my extension blew off.
It was the end of the weekend and cold, so I called it a day
Forgive the newbie question, but what is a track extension?
Leslie, after reading your thread here I started on this today. The street rub strip in the photo is a factory part for reference. I've been trying to make my own for my personal ACR splitter but haven't found a good leading edge. Many have offered to send me an outline of just the front edge but no one ever followed through. I even had tools and materials shipped to Afghanistan so I could work on this on my free time. I bought a carbon fiber one off eBay but the mounting holes don't line up with the street rub strip nor the splitter. This is about 5 hours, including the R&D, tool set up and two almost back to back runs to the hardware store.
I've made two in the past but none came out with a good even leading edge. I've been hand filing this one to get it near perfect.
P.S. Kevan, I didn't forget about you either.

Sweeet!
So is it obvious how it should mount as it seems a few have mounted it incorrectly?
@Rocket. It is obvious if you look at both sides of the extension. The inserts for the bolts have a wide flat side which should go on the bottom, toward the pavement.

Leslie has one in the works. But they can be found for less than $800, http://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/p...8050015AB.html
Reference shot, splitter, rub strip and track extension
Test fit on my ACR splitter
Underside, no mistakes...
Here it is relaxing by the pool.
Caught it hiding under the bed.
Silly track extension got stuck in a tree.
This thing is getting wild!
