Myself, NRS1, and a 3rd Gen Roadster are planning on doing this event. Anyone else in AZ that can make it? http://www.proautosports.com/forms/pdf/Schedule.pdf

can you tell us more?
A hotlap session is for beginners with no experience yet, right? And you ride with an instructor? But it doesn't count towards your "seat time" for getting to where you are allowed to drive yourself, right?
I see there's a "new members" sections on the race schedule including a classroom section. Is this a club? Where can more info on joining be found? I'd be interested in doing more racing like this....
Look at that, i answered my own question....

Be aware that AMP (Nov 14th event) has a 94dB sound limit. I have never been there; but, found the following on their website from an old event. It describes the sound testing requirements: http://www.proautosports.com/EMAIL/2...Pdiscount.html
I would like to try AMP since it is a decent sized track. The WHP tracks are so small that they don't interest me. I will be at the Southern AZ Region Porsche Club event at INDE Motorsports Ranch that weekend in Nov, though. MUCH better track, and not as crowded.

I have enjoyed INDE Motorsports, but I haven't been on wild horse yet.
I would be interested in running with an instructor.
The Red group with Pro Auto is for people with zero track experience. You could drive 5mph around the track all day if you want with zero pressure on getting you to go faster. You can remain in this group as long as you want. You can ask around the 100's of people there and would have no trouble getting an experienced person to drive your car and show you the ropes. If you are hesitating because you are new, trust me, don't. My biggest regret is not starting with Nasa (My first event) 10+ years ago. It took a friend of mine to consistently harass me into going and I thank him for doing so! This seems to be the story for most first time track participants.
You are correct, a bone stock Viper would make the 94db limit, any exhaust mods at all and I would be you cant do this event. Don't choose to not come to the WHP tracks because they are small! I love to show the other cars that a Viper will dominate on a small track as well as a big one. 99% people think we do well only on the straights when that's just not true. I love getting up on AWD 911's and GTR's asses etc in small, tight corners with an old, crusty GTS
I definitely won't make the DB limit at wide open throttle. Consarnet.
Hey NRS1, it was great to meet you yesterday. Awesome Viper you have! Will see you at No Fly Zone in December! There was also a 2002 RT/10 daily driver that showed up driving by a young guy doing his first event. It looks like he had a blast! If you are on this board, let us know who you are!
Definitely a great time sat. Love your rig and car. Good luck with your shoulder and we'll see you at NFZ. I'll probably be out at Thanksgiving since it looks like they will be running the main track. Got to take advantage since it only appears once in a blue moon.
