    Anybody taken a seat apart?

I have a problem with my drivers side seat back, Not sure if a wire has come loose or broken but when I inflate the lumbar support its pushing out of the rear of the seat instead of supporting my back!

I've had my seats in and out many times in the car, but have never taken the covers off.

How easy of difficult is it? Any specialist tools involved?

About the most exotic tool you'll need are the hog ring pliers.

I've only done the seat backs, not the bottoms. The seat backs attach at the top and bottom by a plastic piece that is grooved all the way across the width of the seat back. There are a couple of small wire rings/retainers that hold the middle of the seat back to a metal rod that runs horizontally across the seat.

I think I forced the top off with a little effort. Then I opened the wire retainers with a flat head screwdriver and then I slid the bottom of the seat back completely out towards the console side of the seat.

I pay others to do upholstery. And didn't hang around to take pics of them working when they redid both my seats top to bottom.

I was really hoping to see a "shocker" effectively placed within two freshly crisped donuts.
