My BuyBack car is for sale

I see the car I owned went up for sale in Wisconsin. It does have a new motor in it and had 6 miles on it when it blew up on me. The dealership acquired it at auction. It also has a passenger airbag deactivation switch installed for little ones which was government approved. You can see where it is mounted on the picture of the passenger outside foot well area.

Try for a great price on it.

So they don't have to disclose that it's a buy back obviously.

So how does a buyback work as far as warranty? Does it still start back at the original "in service" date, or does it reset after the buyback, replace everything, list for sale again? Does it then have a tainted title, or Carfax?

Engine blew up at 6mi? Wow... everything else hasn't even been broken in yet so it's still brand new, including a brand new engine? Definitely could be a great deal for someone.

Saw it yesterday on Autotrader and thought the price was good, then I saw the car fax and the lemon law status.

Its really too bad it shows up as a buyback.... Knowing the history of the car like a I do (I go to Roanoke alot) I would buy that car in a heartbeat. Its only issue was a motor like the OP said.

Its not restricted so it has full 3-36 (I checked) A new long block was installed by Roanoke so you know it was done right. Plus, all of the recalls were done too.

Could have been an even sweeter deal if you bought it at the auction. Wonder what that price was?

I would guess a minimum 10% below their asking price, but probably more

    That seems odd to me

I was looking at. 2014 black TA before I bought mine and the dealership selling it not only shared with me over the phone that it was a buy back but they also listed that in their online add.

That was a sketchy car though...the best they would do was $84K with the buyback and the missing cf x-brace. At least they were honest with the car. They even provided me the buyback documentation from FCA.

The issue with these buy backs is that they skew the auction prices downwards heavily.

Yup that's the one. The sales rep I spoke to was super nice and forthcoming. Wonder if it sold.

If you see a Manheim MMR report or any other auction data reports, buy-backs and salvage titles are removed from the trending averages.

In about a month or so there should be a buyback Orange TA available also...

They are on the reports, but listed as below average condition. Unfortunately they affect the average price through the auction.

    What Pass airbag kill switch?

The seats have a sensor in them that kills the air bag if it detects weight of less then 50 lbs. Been this way since 2008.
