    Vipers Invade NCM Motorsport Park!

Awesome weekend at NCM Motorsport Park with Chin Motorsports. Ralph brought out the new ACR Extreme, I got the pleasure of instructing his wife Doris in it as well Gary Wimble and Michael Levitas with DSC/Tractive also both brought there white TA's and Michael brought Randy Pobst along with him! What great people to hang with. There was another orange TA and white GTS-R but i never got over to talk to them. I got to drive Garys car with the Tractive setup, very good. The Tractive setup feels very stable, alot more compliant and the car just puts down power better than the factory setup. From being behind Gary and Michael you can visually see how much less roll and pitch is going on with the car. The back straight at NCM has a bit of a hump coming out of a slight turn at around 130 and my ta gets a bit uneasy, when driving Garys car Randy was in front of us there and you can easily see it on the video. The best way i could explain it from driving back to back was it felt like tractive setup had aero through there it was so stable. Im sure Gary and Michael can chime in with more than i can offer, but it feels great.

Awesome I can't wait to see Randy's review of our ViperExchange dampers. Glad you got to meet Michael he's a really fun and passionate guy when it comes to setup and going fast.

There is no way to conduct a proper review of a product without a control. He would have had to drive the exact car without the suspension, back to back.

Well he did drive Luke's car without the suspension (Black TA) and then one of the White TA's with the suspension. I would assume the only major difference being the tires(Pirelli scrubs vs Hoosier R7s). I would still value Randy's opinion even if the tires were the only major differentiating factor. Also, I don't think the lasting impression of him fighting the stock TA around Laguna Seca to a record has necessarily left his mind. I used the word 'fighting' because his impression of the Viper is you have to work hard to drive it fast. Maybe this notion has been alleviated some with the Tractive suspension.

Luke - awesome videos and as always, awesome driving! What an epic day of enjoyment, I don't think it gets any better as a track rat. Randy, Ralph and Michael Levitas all on the same track swapping cars around. #LivingTheDream

Relax, same cars, same track, same day, same driver. You have made 5 posts between this thread and the other about the ACR. This is one of the better comparisons we've had yet. All of the Vipers were flying out there. The tractives are special I have them on my car and it's a substantial improvement over stock.

Bruce i will give the fastest TA to Luke (black TA) but next time we will see :-) (fastest time of the weekend was by randy in a white TA on saturday just saying)

This was the first time driving with the DSC the car drives great.
first time i had been to NCM so i can not compare lap times. in the above video (white TA luke is following) i am running R7's the rear tires had 19 cycles. with the stock set-up (for me) with 19 cycles it would not have been possible to come even close to the laps times 2:12.1 was my best.
The best way to describe the DSC set-up, you can now control your car i.e. if you start to slide the car you can control the car it does not snap loose.
Bumps and Curbs are smooth no issue hitting them at all.
We worked on the set-up to really comply. What is really great is how easy it is to work with the set-up of the car. I ended up with a program Randy liked. it was a combination of Ralph's original file with tweaks that mike had made.

Next month Luke and i will be together at VIR. I am going to buy a set of tires like Luke runs so we can compare the cars with everything as close to the same as possible.

    Awesome thread!

Are you guys running VE BBKs on your car (looks like it per pics). If so, what pads?

VIR will be fun if anyone wants to come play, full course/grande course, i may go ahead and concede to gary there he always spanks me. The only advantage i have is to try and run a track before he gets to

No all of the TA's are running the stock TA set-up. Luke runs Hawk 70 pads, Mike was running PFC 11, i was running PFC 01

    Thanks. Brembos/TA calipers or ViperExchange/Stoptechs?

I think they are all running the Brembo/TA calipers. What you are seeing in the pics is what the calipers look like after some good heat cycles, they turn into this faded/washed out black/orangish color that in the pics might look like something different.

Mike bought our big brake kit today so he should have them on for VIR.

Still not as good as the ACR's CCB

    Jk couldn't resist.

I still want to see Pobst in the ACR with slicks (and with active suspension!)

You guys are hilarious hanging out at the corvette museum. Especially just calling it "ncm motor sports park" not The National Corvette Museum Motorsports. Lol.

I suppose there's a Texan named Ben that could lay claim to that!

I don't know...I think we have to give you about a 3 second handicap because of your DSC suspension compared to Luke's stock, and another 5 because that rematch will be at your home track! Thanks for the great feedback on the new suspension, and glad you like it.

PS: And if I can think of any other ways to make black look faster I'll be sure to post
