Transmission differences between SRT and GTS

I read that Dodge changed the 5th and 6th gear ratios in the GT and GTS to make the car less "buzzy" on the hiway

Does anyone know the 5-6 ratios for the "GTS trans"

The 13 SRT ones are .77 and .63

    thanks

I believe 5th is the same but 6th goes to 0.50 except in the TAs and probably the ACR.

This is close, the caveat is that in late 2010 they changed the 5th gear. With the 6060 you can change 5th and 6th independently

    93-09_2010__G5
    2.66 - 2.66 - 2.26
    1.78 -1.82 - 1.58
    1.30 -1.30 - 1.19
    1.00 -1.00 - 1.00
    0.74 -.796 - .77
    0.50 - .50 - .63

The 2010 Trans ratios look to be a good choice , thanks Jack !

I heard that the 2010 5th gear change was to improve the nurburgring lap time.

I keep track of this and think this is correct.

    08-09: 2.66, 1.82, 1.30, 1.00, 0.741, 0.50 - 3.07 rear
    2010: 2.66, 1.82, 1.30, 1.00, 0.796, 0.50 - 3.07 rear
    13-14/15-16: 2.66, 1.58, 1.19, 1.00, 0.770, 0.63/.50 - 3.55 rear

I put a 2010 ACR-X transmission in my 08 to get the 5th gear. (Long story, but it worked out to be cheaper than changing the gear in my stock tranny.) Damn thing is NOT quiet at all.

The caveat is, did all 2010 cars have the .796 gear, I thought it was an end of cycle change. Maybe Mark J can chime in. What is also confusing is that i have a 2010 trans in my G5 and it has a .63 6th gear.

Yep, just a matter of time before it goes boom. That said, most of the high horsepower failures I have heard about are in 5th gear, so you gotta be bookin' it for that, but Jack is correct.

To my knowledge, all 2010 cars had the 0.796 5th gear. I have never seen it referenced otherwise.

How do you have a "2010" trans in our G5 car? You have 2010 gear ratios except for 6th?

I put it in, it came from a 2010 salvage

Does anyone know 5th and 6th gear ratios for GTC's with TA (1.0 and 2.0) groups?

Does having the trans gears taller allow it to handle more torque? and then you make up for it with the shorter rear gear to end up near the same performance/ mph etc. I ask because I am looking to replace my trans (syncros are making a bit of noise)- and since I have 940 hp and 990 tq at the wheels I am looking for a manual that can hold up better or figure out a way to reduce its stress a bit.

This is a bit confusing with respect to the Gen V.

My understanding is that all 2013-2014 Gen Vs had the same closer ratio 6th gear.

Starting in 2015 and continuing, only the TAs and ACR had the closer ratio 6th gear.

My car is a 2014 GTS and it came with the closer ration 6th gear.
