    My Birthday Present ...

Took ridiculously long to get here from some part of Asia (I must presume from the torturously translated English). 2 weeks after my birthday my "hoverboard" arrived.

We've taken a good dozen of Segway tours over the years so I'm pretty comfortable with the balance and movements, but this thing is altogether another level of near death experience. Holy crap is this thing fun and crazy dangerous. I'm going to buy wrist guards ASAP since I'm definitely going to take a serious fall at some point.

Have to find the proper place to affix my VOA sticker!

Don't yet have a pic of me on the thing. Been practicing (along with my daughter) in the living room so far. But here's the one that I have:

    2-wheels-Hover-Board-for-all-ages.jpg

Has running lights in front so that I can cruise the interstates at night!

Did just pick up a pair of roller blade wrist guards at lunch. Going for that "hipster" look.

LOL. Yea, as if I don't do well enough making a fool of myself without a "hoverboard". I'll be down at Long Beach Island over the weekend where we plan to really put it through its paces.

This will be my contact information:

I can already see Scott hovering at the mast of the Empire State Building like a Zeppelin would have had the mast actually been used for it's intended purpose

That's actually a great system. Smooth floors and a "walker" for balance! Might try that. LOL

    Haha!

Survived! Got reasonably good/comfortable after about 20 minutes. Of course, we remained in a newly paved parking lot. Can't imagine it's faster than walking in NYC. Maybe for 1/2 a block when there's an ebb in foot traffic, but unlike the standard Segway, these wheels are 5" or 6" so they don't take too well to pebbles and most surface changes. A handicapped curb cut is quite an experience.

It's a lot of fun after the anxiety dissipates. You still get "seg-leg" which is strained muscles in your arches and ankles after some time. But still great fun.

What's the 0 to 60 time? Have you taken it to the strip yet?
