Those of you who know me know I'm always aware of safety especially in a roadster. I have intended on installing a roll bar since I took delivery a year ago this month but somehow time escaped me as I procrastinated since I didn't want to give the car up for a couple weeks to get it done. Now that it's prime top down season in Houston (until next June!) I finally did it!
Kenny Bumbera, owner of Bumbera's Performance Associates, did an over the top install of an Autoform roll bar! He had to modify a Gen IV roll bar to fit a Gen V, completely disassemble the cabin and build a new fiberglass back panel since most of the electronics are underneath it. I have examined it VERY closely and it looks absolutely perfect. Anyone needs a roll bar take it to Kenny - he's da man!
Here are a few cell phone pictures. The little nick on the seat belt guide has been touched up already - the finger pointing to the small screw shows it is modular and can easily be taken apart if the electronics underneath need servicing. They worked really hard to match the paint to the seats and put a flat finish on it so it looks similar to the leather!
