But then again a $15,000 price drop may have had something to do with the spike in 2014

True. Expect another jump up with the ACRs coming in
I'm curious to see if there is a solid spike on ACRs, even if 50 are bought, that's not much of a spike and probably only for a month. I find it interesting that VE has multiple ACRs on ebay not sold yet, and dealers are advertising at invoice (vs negotiating down to invoice), seems like if there were a rush on these, like for the GT350-Rs, you'd have trouble finding one, not have so many options and immediate price redux. But it'll be interesting to watch, viper sales have always been a mystery of the universe, in a parallel universe I'm sure they can't make enough vipers for demand and it's at the top of every mag ranking ... like it should be.
Mine is 1 of the 108 in September 2014. A couple of things contribute to low volume sales overall. People have been made to be afraid of the car plus the interior is tight. The other thing is that a lot of people don't mind and actually like being 1 of the millions of Corvette or Porsche or BMW guys.

Pretty simple , there are not a lot of unsold , older Vipers at Dealerships and there is a huge backlog of Vipers , ACRs and 1 of 1s , just ready to pop. Predict a big increase in the coming months as I know we have a bunch coming and we are just one Dealer.
Slim pickings on cars.com and the like, you are right Bill. It's like when the clothing store has a sale, all left are XXXL and XXS
If Dodge's dealer ordering system operates anything like GM does, orders are allocated to dealers and it is your choice whether to take them or lose them. In that case VE would have got a chance to get a batch of Vipers or choose to lose them to other dealers. If you choose to take the batch, you have to submit options/colors/etc. This may occur way before a customer decides to place an order. Seems like VE decided to get some basic examples and some high dollar examples to cater to their customers. Being one of the top three, you know people will come from everywhere to get there hands on one. Why not have a few around to show people so they can decide what they really want =D
Ahh... I was one of the 49 buyers in the country that bought this beautiful machines in September.
Given that they are producing 16s for the past month... I can imagine the 15s being a thing of rarity. What do you guys think? 250-300 cars for 2015 MY?

Yeah, well sales of the Z06 are high probably because everyone thinks the Viper's hot sills cause occupants to spontaneously combust upon contact. Some advanced drivers can run at GT3 and Turbo S pace for 30 minute sessions without overheating. Track layout, driving style and hot weather will all affect whether it's a success or a failure in individual owner's hands.
Yea, look at the current cover for the lightening lap issue, couldn't be more of a Z06 ad than if GM designed it themselves, hec, they probably did. And that sh!t sells cars. On some obscure pg in the back of that same mag is a 1 pager about the ACR, with backhanded compliments and Luke warm enthusiasm of saying they think it'd be a few seconds faster than a TA. That doesn't sell cars.
Here's how to double or triple sales... make rear exit crossover exhaust with a valve, insulate the cabin better, mount thinner seats lower.
There are dealers still getting full msrp and above for hellcats (with tons of internet buzz) and that's even with an announced price increase. Not sure its as simple as a supply and demand thing. Hopeful for the "big pop" but seeing will be believing. Personally, I am not optimistic but will happily be proven wrong. It's unexplainable why this car, at this price point, is not more coveted.
It is pretty simple IMHO, Viper only offers a manual. It is exactly why this car isn't more coveted at this price point is because they don't offer an auto. A lot of people who buy a $100k car, don't always track them, they are just garage queens and the majority of those guys want a auto, IMHO.
When you drop the price of your vehicle by 15K and there isn't a significant increase in sales you must be scratching your head. I factory ordered a '15 and absolutely love it. I can't believe these don't sell better.
I did my part for October unless the sale is counted when the Viper is delivered? In which case probably February. Either way +1.
