Viper GTS For Sale in Denver - Need Help!

Does anyone know anything about the Yellow GTS that is for sale at Rocky Mountain Eurosport in Denver?
The pictures look great from 1000 miles away. Is it possible for one of you stop by for a brief inspection?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Did the 2002 GTS Vipers have any problems with the rear frames?
Is there anything else that I should look for?

    Thank you very much, Patrick

Never read of a frame issue on the 2002. Looking at the photos, I don't recognize the airbox. I believe that it is aftermarket.
It also looks like the plastic support under the vinyl on the armrest on the console has been cracked pretty severely. There are DIYs to fix it; but, it might be bad enough that the crack would still show in the vinyl if not lined up good enough before gluing it.

If tires are original, figure that they are aged out and need replaced.

Car looks lowered to me? Might be on spring lowering caps? Check the shocks/springs.

Definitely has a cracked centre console.

Google "Fixed my cracked centre console" and you will see some how to repair guides

Cracked center console, no biggie. Looks like original tires, need replacing if they are. Cora style exhaust. May be lowered on spring caps but not sure.

I could check it out on Friday. I'm not a Viper guru, but I know a bit of what to look for.

I know you didn't ask, but it's the internet so I'll throw in 2 random cents.
That price seems astronomical assuming it's nothing outrageously outside the norm of 2002 GTS.
Once the thread below develops, it may be worth your time to at least look at.

Maybe a little pricey. Not crazy. Just a little bit ambitious. With no cracked console and new tires, I would say low 40s is fine. Especially as there are less and less nice examples. But needing that fix and tires should bring it down a bit.

Blue and white 96' in mint condition on Viper Owners Facebook in Colorado Springs for $45k, has 8,000 miles. Way better deal IMHO.

That dealer is pretty proud of their stuff; they tend to be on the high side typically.

Pricey for a 2002 but it is expected that the dealer might be a bit on the high side to allow for negotiation.

On the console... here is a thread that has a fix.

Buy that 96' GTS in the Springs, it is 10 times the car at a cheaper price with way less miles.

My friend is the person who made the deposit on the Viper. I will be there with him next week to look it over and possibly buy it.
Thank you to everyone for your comments. They are greatly appreciated.

This probably refers to the 998 recall. The steering rack mounts and diff mounts can crack under stress. It was only '96-'99 Gen IIs that had a problem, and then it only generally only showed up on cars that were tracked. Any Dodge dealer can do the recall, though it's recommended you have a tech who's done it before do it because if the front brackets are put on wrong you can't easily get the oil filter out.
