Amazing car and driving. Wow!
There may be a little downforce when splitters are scraping! Great videos! Thanks
Thanks for sharing!
Very cool video.
Anyone else notice the diffuser fins are not parallel to each other? They fan outward.
<--- apparently obsessed with the diffuser right now.
Darius, thanks for posting!! The initial '08 ACR test was 1:29, looks like he did better than that on a lap coming out of the pits vs. full speed on the front straight.
Maybe Chris hasn't ever been there, cones were set up at various points on the track to show him the best line.
What was interesting is that they created a kink at the end of the back straight with the cones before turn 8. That's not the way to enter 8. Maybe they wanted him to scrub speed before the turn? I'm doing about 135 there, who knows, he may have been at 145??
A bunch of the SoCal guys will be there 10/3-10/4 with West Coast racing. They run a good event and only $245 for both days. Willow is a great viper track.
Take care and thanks for posting!! Mike
Awesome videos! You can literally see the aero working in how well the car is planted throughout. Looks amazing. I cannot wait to get mine!
I have to ask... What is on the infotainment screen ?
Sweet. Can't wait to check them out at Laguna Seca. It would be mind blowing if it beats the Porsche 918 time 1:29xx.
Nice driving. Car is a beast.
More downforce than is legal in imsa and more power than is legal in imsa.. And with the latest BOPs not much heavier either. Anyone excited yet?
Seriously though, what are the freakin cones for? Chris is an excellent driver he don't need no stinkin' cones! By the way I did beat Chris' time on the South Course of VIR in the One Lap of America once. He was in the 08 ACR. Of course he went out early on a completely wet track while I went out on a completely dry track. But I'll take it! Every other event he cleaned my clock and everyone else's.
I guess that day was a corporate track day for Dodge and Fiat, found another video of a journalist who was invited to attend the event. Boring video but he gives a little info on what they got to do that day.
I thought that the cones cost him a ton of time. What ACRVPRC said is exactly right. They took him WAY off line in the back straight.
That's how they work
The diffuser increases in volume along its length, creating a void that has to be filled by the air passing under the body. This venturi effect means that the flow is accelerated through the throat of the diffuser, creating the desired low pressure, then gradually returned to the same velocity at which it joined the wake. The angle or slope of the diffuser is also important, the diffuser must have a gradual change of angle to prevent flow separation from its roof and sides.
