    ACR-X at COTA (VIDEO)

Made the trip out to COTA this past weekend for the Edge Addicts event. BIG thanks to Kurt and Yvette for organizing some discounts and group rates for VOA members at the event. There were quite a few Vipers in attendance which was nice because usually I'm the only one when I head to the track. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting some new folks as well. This was my first time driving COTA. Took me about 3 sessions to get somewhat comfortable with the track. My data system ended up not recording anything on Sat which irritated me as I thought I was getting the hang of things I wanted to see what kind of times I was making to have something to shoot for the next day. I did get some cool front bumper mount go pro video from Sat which I will post later on. Video posted now is from the first two sessions on sunday. Traffic was lighter which was nice. I'm still leaving some time on the table as I just don't have enough seat time on this track. Lowest i have on data is 2:23.1. I'm pretty sure I can get into the teens with better weather (you can see IAT's climbing) and some more experience. Hopefully you guys enjoy the ride along, 1st lap in each video is a warm up.

Great driving Matt, so sorry we had to miss it, looks like your picking the track up just fine to me. Hopefully, we can all do this next year!

You'd be in the low teens if you'd taken the Bob line.

That aside, that's sum good driving right there!

Damn Matt, you get around those corners so fast. Loved the "reel em in" in the last video I'm working on my videos and should have some up soon. BTW, thanks for the recommendation on the R3 cleaner; took off most of the rubber marks and didn't hurt the wrap.

It's actually hanging off the front nose.

Haven't cleaned mine up yet either, where can I find R3 cleaner?

They actually had some at the track. You can also find it on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Mothers-09224-...rds=mothers+R3

I use a product called Tar-X by Carpros to remove the rubber. It takes it off with ease but if it stays on too long (track weekend) it seems that there is still a light trace of the rubber still left on the paint. Do you have this problem also? I took it to my detailer and he said we might need to lightly buff them out. Tried a straight solvent on it with no luck. The joys of white cars...they're supposed to be easier to deal with!

Yeah, the really bad ones left faint marks but it looks night and day better than I expected as I hadn't found anything that removed them before R3. Luckily my car is vinyl wrapped so if they every get too bad I can just remove it and be back to factory fresh paint.

If you let it soak for a 30 sec or so it works even better.

I've use goo gone or other citrus products in the past with pretty good results. However, I don't know if there are any negative side effects with a clear bra.

Great to see people post their in car videos!

For constructive criticism, i would suggest experimenting with turning the wheel a little more at the apex, off throttle then unwind the wheel and get to throttle & full throttle sooner in the low speed turns (1, 11, 12, 15, 20) instead of at track-out. You'll probably knock off a few seconds simply by lengthening the straight and using the power. Keep up the good work!
