I was asked by a fellow Viper owner for the dimensions of my footwell sub so that he could build one himself. So I thought, I post my answer here in the How-to's section so that others can make use of it as well.
I tried to do some drawings using Google Sketchup so here's what I was able to come up with (I am not very familiar with Sketchup yet so please forgive the somewhat weired drawings). I hope, you can depict the key information from these.
The enclosure I built was intended to host an 8" driver. 10" driver may fit in but I believe that they will not sound very good due the limited enclosure volume of approx. 10 liters. This is typically not enough to allow for an adequate cut-off frequency, meaning it will not sound very deep with a 10" driver. Even many 8" drivers will not play very well in such a small enclosure. I recommend to carefully select an appropriate chassis by its Thiele-Small Parameters.
The general dimensions are:
Width: 395cm (300cm at the back end)
Height: 245cm
Depth: 350cm
The drawings shall give you a general idea of the enclosure shape and dimension. As you will see, the shape is quite odd, there are a number of oblique connections/angles involved.
It is important to mention that the left side of the enclosure (next to the center console) forms an angle of approx. 75° with the front of the box. The right side is rectangular. Here's a view of the enclosure from top (note that the front and back side are parallel although it looks like they are not in the drawing):
Here's what the Sub will look like when installed.
