Question Why Does Passenger Side Exhaust Run So Much Hotter?

Does anyone have a good explanation for why the passenger side exhaust runs so much hotter than the drivers side? I only mention this because of my white paint yellowing (sill area) so much more on the passenger side. The drivers side has very little yellowing comparatively. I am trying to make a plan to eliminate as much heat as humanly possible so when the next car gets here I can prevent this. It could be coincidental or related to hotter weather, but I did notice this getting much worse after installing the Arrow PCM.

IT might not be hotter but it could be poor insulating from the factory.

I bet the insulating on the drivers side is placed better than the passenger. I had a side sill off recently and it's an organized mess of tinfoil shielding. I bet that side it's not quite adjusted the best and heat transferred through too easily. Mine hasn't yellowed there (yet) but on both sides when you open the door there is a small recessed area on the sill close to the hinge that's very yellow. It's only visible when the door is open so I just ignore it, but that yellowing in the OP would drive me crazy.

Interesting. I thought I've read a lot of people complaining about passenger side issues, but who knows now.

It all started with the recessed part turning yellow...then progressively moved its way outward. It drives me crazy..every time I look at the damn thing it bothers me. Especially after I wash it.

Somewhere on this forum, a couple of members re-wrapped their side pipes with heavy duty heat insulation stuff. If you pull your rockers? Idk? Maybe a good detailer could buff the heat off the clear coat make it white again without a re spray...but he has to get the orbital thing in there...

i took some pics with an IR camera. There are two issues, one is insulation and the other is the actual release of hot air. It is the latter that gets that exact spot hot. If you want to protect the paint, insulation is not going to help, you have to redirect or channel the air away from that slight crease/opening. I will look at it this weekend and see what can be done.

You can see the hot spot (red +), that is from air flowing out of the engine compartment, I dropped a temperature line on the sill, you can see the insulation is doing its job.

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA.... do they make this in orange? Won't high flow cats solve some of this issue? I'm sorry it's doing that to your paint ;(

The Balengers (single cat) dropped my temps dramatically.

same problem on my white Viper. Bought wrap and will wrap that part in white. They are installing the JonB's high flow cat next week and ill have the shop wrap that part on both sides. It drives me crazy with all the yellowing.

not sure how long the wrap will last.. I think with high flow cats the car will have less heat and should be good for a year or so with the wrap.

I'm definitely interested in hearing your results. I'm going to get the cats for my ACR as well.
