    Proud new 1998 GTS owner

    Hello everyone!
Two proud new owners of a red and white 98 GTS. Just picked it up, haven't even cruised it yet. New to the forum, new to the brand, new to the viper, but couldn't be more excited!
As you can tell, car is missing the center caps but I've just inquired about the Ipsco polished bits...

Stripes look really good on your 98. Were they painted on or were they done with tape? My first Viper was a red 1998 and still have a soft spot for that old girl.
    Enjoy!!

They are painted on. We havent made any changes to the car and as far as I can tell, nobody else did either.

Well someone spent some money on your car, which is great , as there were no red, white striped cars in 98 , but most just stuck tape on the car. Paint looks a ton better , but many did not want to spend the bucks -- your prior owner did, so that is good news. Enjoy , it looks great with the classic racing colors.

My first Viper was a red Gen 2 GTS....traded in a black Z06 to get it. Drove the hell out of it enjoying every moment. I'm on my fifth Viper now, never looked back. Congrats and enjoy it!

Sweet looking car!!! It's not the stripes that make it faster.....it's the red paint!! :-) Enjoy it and welcome to the forum. This a great group of folks as I've learned over the last few months.

The nice thing about the 708 cam cars is that you can just start them and walk to the back of the car and be entertained by the music.

Welcome! I miss my 02 GTS so badly. I also had the ten spokes on there. I think they look killer on the Gen II.

Call Jon B at PartsRack.com. Tell him vprbite sent Ya. He should be able to get the viper logod center caps to you by mid week. Good news...they just pop on. No need to remove the wheel.

    Best regards and welcome.

Also...make sure to learn how to open the hood properly. It's not hard, it's just not something you want to do wrong. Them hinges ain't cheap. Not trying to scare you. Just letting you know it can be tricky and daunting given the sheer size of that bastard at first. Once you know,it's cake. Fun fact--if you run out of gas, you can open the hood and use it like a spinnaker on a sailboat and get to a gas station.

---totally kidding about the sail thing. Please don't do that. Actually, if at a car show and it's windy, don't leave it open. It can grab that wind and torque hard. You probably would have figured that out but, it's just something I would hate to see happen.

    Hi Bill,

There are those 11 w/ silver stripes but otherwise not that I am aware of.

Sorry , was not specific , as was aware of the silver striped cars, since in 99, 2000 and 2001 we sold one third of the entire production of red/silver striped cars. Thanks for catching , I edited my post to be correct.

I love he 10 spokes on all Bioers but I think they are the best of newer wheels for the GEn II GTS. The brand new Gen V wheels remorettymsweet too. But I had those wheels on my GTS and loved em.
