    Noise Cancelling Microphones

I had an aftermarket stereo installed
Part of that was disconnecting the factory speakers. Sounds great, but it's doing some funny things. The installer is sure it's because there are noise cancelling mics in the car that are not getting feedback from the OE speakers. He wants to remove them but doesn't know where they are. He phoned the dealer who sold me the car and they wouldn't tell him. I've asked my salesman but not holding my breath.
    Does anyone here know?
    Thanks in advance.

You had an aftermarket stereo installed in your Gen V?

Yes ANC mics can cause some issues when replacing or adding on electronics to the factory system. A lot of times they are in the headliner or overhead console. Unsure of a Gen V though.

Post a pic of your stereo. I'm curious how this works with everything so integrated into the touch screen.

Many times they are the same as the BT mic.

Thanks for help so far. I'm also wondering if disconnecting those mics will screw up my UConnect, but the stereo sounds so good I really don't want to change it.

There's not much point in taking a lot of pictures, it looks completely stock except for the sub.2015-06-23 18.36.30.jpg2015-06-23 16.40.20.jpg

So they added an amp and sub to the stock system? On Honda's when this is done and it has Active Noise Cancelling Mics, usually the mics are disconnected or disabled in the radios menu. No idea on the Gen V, but with Honda's as soon as the door is closed the sub will start thumping if this is not done.

My guess is it's the same mic as it is for your Uconnect

They did more than that. They disconnected all of the factory speakers and put comps in the dash and doors.

I'm glad I just got mine with the HK system to begin with. Normally I am all about the aftermarket gear, but the HK system in the viper sounds incredible.

No luck yet trying to get info. Do we have any contacts at Conner Avenue?

Just unplug the Uconnect mic and see if that fixes your issue. It's an easy test that's reversible. I'd put money on it being the same as the ANC mic.
