Big Brakes and Dynamic Suspension

Such an awesome setup, I know I have posted pics in the past and specs on both the Big Brake Kit and our new Dynamic Suspension package, but seeing it all on a brand new 2015 matte black GT with the TA 2.0 package is pretty awesome.

Really wish I wasn't out of money so I could pick up the big brakes right now. Such a rediculous setup on these cars.

Agree, I just kept walking out to the shop to look at it. It's a machined silver, not powder coated or painted. It has an anodized feel to it and the SRT letters are actually embosed into the calipers. Very cool setup. This car will be at the COTA event.

I think they maybe on the next Gen Viper? Rralph Gilles had that same set up on his Gen V.

Yes he runs this exact same setup (ViperExchange), suspension and big brakes on his Gen V. We are still playing around with the suspension on his car.

I agree these are a great upgrade for all but the Carbon Ceramics, but even if I tracked the car all the time I would run this setup due to replacement costs on the rotors. It's always a business case in the end and maybe they felt adding another 5-6K in brakes didn't make sense on the bottom line. I think one of the best ways to buy a new car right now is to buy a complete base SRT or one with stage 1 aero and add the electronic suspension, big brake kit, and heads and cam.

I'll try to go out there and snap a shot. The rears are 4 piston, but larger 4 piston than factory.

The brakes are cool and all, Andy, but how about some pics of the matte black GT these brakes are on. I thought matte finishes weren't available until 2016.

I "believe" it was a 1 of 1 GTC car but I could be wrong. Courtney would be better at answering that question actually.

This is a one of one GTC Viper we special ordered for a customer in Oklahoma........The car will be at COTA.

You serious Pete? I can no longer sell you my car LOL. Yes there is a stoping advantage over the TA, Track Pack, and base brake system on the Gen V's. 6 piston front calipers and a 380mm front rotor (same size rotor that is on our GTD IMSA VIper Race Car). Rear calipers and rotors are also larger than stock.

I would think that the actual stopping distance won't be necessarily shorter on the first few hard stops. But on the track, where you might be nailing the brakes hard 10 or more times a lap, consistent and fade free braking is your reward. The scariest feeling when tracking your car is not being able to trust your brakes or you start feeling inconsistent braking. Not as scary in a 140 hp Miata, but stuff happens real quick with 600 plus horsepower from corner to corner.

The reality is if you don't track your car hard, the stock Viper brakes are obviously more than you can ever use.

No Sir these are much larger Stoptechs than the factory 2 piece Stoptechs. This is a big brake kit designed for ViperExchange by SRT Race Engineer Matt B. Matt now works on the GTD Viper Team. These are built to our specs by Stoptech for ViperExchange. Front calipers are big 6 pistons clamping a 380mm rotor, which is the same rotor on our GTD IMSA Viper. Rears feature a larger 4 piston caliper and bigger rotor as well. These will out brake the TA, Track Pack, and base brakes easily. There's a 20mm difference up front between these and the upgraded carbon ceramics on the ACR.
