Eye candy! Thanks for sharing.
Wow! The hood looks crazy good. Keep those pics coming!
That there is what you call a "serious effort".
Sick! So is the frame scratch built? What is "stock" on the car?
Street car/track car? As soon as I hit the lotto I'll buy a dozen. Awesome car!!!!
Awesome build. Please keep us updated!
Best thing I have seen in a while. I wanna know how much the body costs..........................................but it doesn't matter, lol.
Drop dead gorgeous...Have you guys decided on Eng/tranny combo yet?
Holy Shiite!!! That is nuts.
Does it take that much fab work just to fit the body, or is the custom framework for other purposes (i.e. better geometry, ease of maintenance/repair, lighter weight)?
There's a guy here in Arizona with a Comp Coupe that has that body on it
Badass.. Luv the flames!!
Absolutely awesome! What's the target weight?
Pappy
Oh my....Just Beautiful. Cant wait to see this all done. Will the interior be racecar spartan or will it have a livable interior? Mind you I dont mean plush. Just a finished interior with lightweight panel covers etc?
If its going to be a covered interior then this will be the way the ACR should have come from the factory in many of our eyes. I remember when we first saw the GT3 R body. Many thought the ACR should have that body over the street car chassis. Sounds like you are doing something to that effect....
Of course my question is towards the build that kept the Vipers passenger chassis part.
Love it. Any chance that grill is a separate carbon piece? If so, I want one for my Gen V to replace the crappy molded plastic!
Amazing, End goals here
I want those sideskirts for my car.
I've heard for overall reliability the 9.0 sacrifices that to "some". Degree. All statements have varying degrees of opinions. 750-800whp...? Tell me more about this thing I think I now need as soon as possible!
With proper tuning it should fly through CA emissions, too? I would imagine it can run all OEM sensors in closed loop and be okay? Obviously it's not "technically CA legal" but my smog guy just wants it to plug in and pass.
Ya dig?
^^^ Yeah, I can't imagine reliability being an issue for the 9L. We're talking about a large 10 cylinder engine that any of the good engine builders will tell you has no issue handling quite a bit more power than what a 9L puts out. And these are the guys beating on them at 1/2 mile and 1 mile events. Only issue has been oiling. Accusump should ease all concern.
Speaking of street legal, will you have any trouble with the state of CA with the Earnhardt bar obstructing forward vision?
Pappy
^^^ Definitely paint it black to conceal its presence at the very least.
Thats interesting since you told us the temps were high with water in the 270 plus range, and the driver continued to run the car.
There was over 11,000 changes in the ECU calibration, when compared to our calibration that is included with the 9L.
All pistons showed sign of detonation. Fuel pressure may have been an issue as well since it was not monitored.
Lol. This is getting interesting now.
I know this is essentially race car build with Chassis stiffening and Geometry (and much more), But I have to ask......the pic showing the door, the gaps are Horrid? Is that the final fit or is everything still to be adjusted?
Sorry to pour rain on the parade :(
Sounds Awesome, and thanks for the reply.
I always wished that the Viper team in Le man's would (when facing a non win) bring one of the cars into the garage, unrestrict it and then go back out on track for a couple of laps and show the crowd what the cars really could do!
Yeah they would have got a black flag but it would have been a great way to go out.
