Anyone have any interesting trivia on the 1998 Viper GT2 that you would like to share or see if others know?
OK - After all the views, I guess I will start.
How many do you think are available for purchase right now?
I had the option of buying one but after seeing the $20K premium over list, I backed out because it was not worth the 10 additional horsepower. I regret it as I missed out on the classic value.
They made a 100 of them, right? How many were crashed? I see 4 on sale at the viperexchange.com.
And we have a player!!
#82 is a new car on the site/market and was last registered with 16,827 miles. Anyone know the owner around the Ft. Lauderdale area?
#51 been up & down for a long time.
#79 sold in 2016.
#24 sold in 2018 to the investment firm in NY and was extremely well bought based on the SEC filing statements :)
I will give a hint. 4 isn't even close......
You should at least recoup your original investment after 20 years. I would estimate 17 for sale.
C'mon ViperEnvy! Stop teasing us. So was it 100 or 102 cars GT2s? And do you know of any crashed ones?
Interesting!

Here's something most people probably haven't seen. From the front lip installation memo

Attachment 37425Attachment 37426
Here's the attachment points and the brackets that they used. This was installed on a regular GTS. Imo it's the cleanest front splitter available for the GenIIs. It may not do a lot but it looks the best.
Stay tuned for this months GT2 Trivia at mid-month.
Until then, who can spot any inaccuracies in the vehicles long description that have perpetuated throw time?
http://wearecurated.com/1997-viper-gtsr/
Couple of typos in that article :D
1997 Viper GTSR ? Would they mean 1998? :D
"Simply put, the Dodge Viper GTR-S (Woops :lol2: is one of the most desirable and collectible big block Amercian :lol2: GT cars of the era and represents long term solid market value".
To be fair many on here also call the 1998 GT2 a GTS-R because it says GTS-R on the front fender wings.
But Interesting they are also calling it a GTR-S :smilielol: And can't spell "AMERICAN" :D
There is something else. Hint: It is an entire sentence.
BTW - I have been corrected by non other than the Grailkeeper that it is a GT2 per the description on the window sticker. The sticker package is GTSR. Has to be one of the most confusing marketing efforts every created.....maybe that should be a trivia question: Name a more confusing vehicle name that wasn't associated with the vehicle ;)
How about claiming 100 were required to homologate the GT2 even though they were produced a couple years after the GTS-R debuted and after the GTS-R won at Lemans.
They also list it as car #1010. It’s actually #010 per the console plaque.
Also the current owner is number 4. Owner 1 & 2 registered & titled the Viper within their state, Owner number 3 did not and it does not look like owner number
4 has registered her in Florida...
Factory exhaust was also taken out and a Hennessey Exhaust was added....The side sill started to yellow thus owner 1 decided to cool her down a bit.
And another WINNER with the award being cork covered in rubber. Its inside baseball on this award (get it).
Now still two other items. ONE is sooo glaringly obvious, don't let it slip past you 22 years later. The other is another 1st sentence that I interpret as incorrect.
" Racing Car for the Street"
In 1996, two teams took up the mantle of the racing Vipers. Vipers were racing at Lemans as early as 94 or 95 in
RT/10's. Remember the Green RT/10?
April Trivia Question:
What vendor made the GT2 wing?
Multimatic ?
Nope - This one is going to have to hang out here for awhile.....
Oreca (reason they had to make 100 street versions)
Yes I want another one...
Autoform?
Who knows of this GT2 with an Indiana license plate - four digits with a "P" in it?

Rent a car :)
I was there, watching those two RT/10s rip apart the opposition. It was also a glorious rain free hot weekend.
Its that time again to play GT2 Trivia....
When was the first GT2 delivered based on state registration?
One of those "Rent A Cars" finished 10th overall ....
One was red and the other was yellow ...
Texas?
The yellow car was 19th as a DNF.
The red car was still running and 12th overall .. not 10th .. my bad memory.

Justin Bell was one of the drivers ... said it was an handfull.
Who’s GTSR IS this and who owns it now?
