Guys/gals I never meant to offend anyone, only to share an unfortunate accident which reminded myself to be more responsible when I play. I'm 40 and have an 18 year old and a 7 year old so I very much sympathize and by no means was bashing, or saying anything negative. I thought since I'd remind myself and Viper Truck community, that I'd share with my Viper owners as well. Our trucks are easier to lose control of believe it or not. Many trucks and lives lost. If I could save a life by someone deeply thinking about my post, then I feel my words spread were worthwhile.
Prayers sent to to the friends and family of this tragedy.

I thnk the thread is a really good reminder V1R... Viper's are such a small community that many of us will know a car or person who owns it...
If the thread stopped one more person from getting snake bit, then it has served it's orig intent.

Its unfortunate that many people do not realize how dangerous any and all cars can be. This holds especially true for high performance cars.
I love my Viper, and for her protection and the protection of everyone I know, I have a simple rule: NO ONE DRIVES HER BUT ME!
And when you have friends/kids/relatives who either drink or are idiots who have never driven a car anything like a Viper (yea, that describes most of my "friends/kids/relatives"), I keep my extra keys locked in the safe, and my keys in my pocket. ALWAYS.
I actually had a nephew ask to drive her, explaining how he had many hours of experience driving fast cars on grand theft auto! Please, tell me I was adopted into this family! ;-)
The OP was well intentioned when he created this thread. I'm sure that just like the rest of us, he simply wishes us to remain diligent in our efforts to protect our cars and our lives.

I feel terrible for the kid that got in the accident. As far as attacking the person who put up an image with fire, that poster uses that everytime he talks about old tires on a powerful car. I really am sick of this whole PC movement. OP was attempting to just let everyone know who wants or drives a viper to just be careful and respect the beast. Then people go and yell at him for posting something that is a great problem. This car does demand respect and I would never let anyone drive it without my permission unless it is one of the few people I can trust with its powers. So yes I do hope that the kid makes it but the issue is that this happens multiple times a year to all a manner of inexperienced driver and ones that have track seat time. That is the point that the OP was trying to make. Then the thread got hijacked. Why not look for the good in the post not who it is offending. They didn't ask to be defended and aren't caring what some stupid website says they JUST WANT THEIR KID TO BE OK. SO LEAVE IT ALONE and yes please pray for the kid and his family.
Pretty much on point. I consider myself to be a very experienced driver but again with 500+ hp stock, and not many stay stock, I have myself had unexpected things happen and had to correct for them. It's as simple as a show off burnout you've done a thousand times on your back road. You go to the local cruise and its different pavement than you and your tires/car are used to. You give it the same amount of gas and same clutch dump as you usually do on your backroad testing site, but something's different, the tires spin much more freely and before you know it, your headed towards spectators or a wall/tree/pole/ditch etc.
That's an example situation I spoke of. Even us who are so familiar and know how to react and harness our power can have an unexpected surprise. Not to mention someone who has no idea the power,capability, handling aspects of our beasts getting behind the wheel and guaranteed to show off especially with a rider. It will rarely end with good news.
I just want everyone to realize things can happen to the expert or inexperienced just the same.
