I have 4,000 miles on my TA and recently the brakes started squealing while stopping during normal driving.
Anyone else with a TA experiencing this? It's not real loud but loud enough to get other driver's attention. My wife
had this problem with her SL550 and they said it was because of the high performance brake pads.

Sometimes with performance pads, the squeal is because the friction material that was transferred to the rotor in the bedding process has worn away from a lot of street driving. You could try bedding them in again.

So you have your wife's car in your sig and 4000 street miles on a TA... What has this world come to.

Mine has squeaked ever since I bought it. Still does it but not very often, only when very light on the brake from about 3mph to 0

I use Carbotech pads. You can hear them a mile away :)

LOL. Me too. People think I am going to run red lights and stop signs because I brake hard and fast to avoid the squeal.

Mine did it randomly, the Carbotechs are a little worse. Doesn't bother me, because race car.

It's kind of a badge of honor ;) I always liked it.

My GTS with 7500km does this too, only at slow speeds also. I find it does it more on hot, humid days.

My Gen 4 does this with the OEM pads...it seems to be aggravated by braking in reverse (like backing out of my garage). It's also random...sometimes it squeals loud as hell, and other times it is completely silent. Doesn't seem to have much of a rhyme or reason...but yes, racecar.

I have a question for all you with brake squeal. Do you usually just wipe your cars down, or do you use water and soap to wash them? These cars produce a ton of brake dust (and just have a Srt). The only times I have ever had squeal issues in my current or previous vipers is when I waited to long without getting a hose in there and spraying out the dust. It's literally a black stream of water when I spray inside the wheel and on the calipers.

Use a California Duster when it's just light dust.
Wash with foamy soap using a gun when it's actually dirty and then a Air Force Master Blaster to dry it. And YES, most late model cars I've had produce a great amount of brake dust.
