Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to post a lite of my story about my pick up of my 1 of 1 gt 2015. I ordered it from John Gatsman at Roeanoke. The easiest car purchase I have had. He went over with me all the details of the 1 0f 1 program and help me place my order. As others had posted it was a little slow to get going but as soon as the car was approved and went to paint it was completed in just under three weeks. I could not be happier with the car. The build quality is excellent. I flew to Detroit on the 21 out of Miami fl at 7 am arrived in Detroit at 1015 am pick up was at 12 pm. we made are way to the plant my father made the trip with me. When we arrived they showed us a series of videos about the gen V. What I did not know until I arrived is John was also picking up his own 2015 1 of 1 at the same time. The staff at the plant are great. They have as much passion for the cars they build as we have to own and drive them. We had a great and detailed tour of the plant and they took all the time we needed to explain the whole process. After the tour they took us over to where the car was under a cover and revealed the car to us. Then they had my father put on the plaque on the dash very cool. After all of that we had to go in and finish the paper work so we could dive the car out of the plant. We then were able to go to the Prefix facility to view the targa that they were working on. Nice to see it in the creation stages. After we jumped in the car and headed south in 5 pm Detroit traffic not recommended. We made it to Lexington KY the first day around 1 am. We slept got up in the morning and headed south again. We stopped in wears valley tn right by the dragon to show my dad around and see some friends. Left late afternoon and we stopped in lake city Florida for the night. We then made it home on the third day by 2 pm. It truly was a great experience I would recommend it to anyone purchasing1224512245122461224712247 a new viper. I'm attaching a few photos from the trip.

Sounds like a great trip. I did a cross country road trip with my dad a few weeks ago to get my TA.

What did they tell you about the anodized carbon paint? If you have to re paint something in the future does it have to be sent back to prefix? Is it something a regular body shop can do? How does it look after the drive home? Bug splats etc?

Fly in, drive home. That is the only way to buy a Viper, in my opinion. Great memories!

Darius,
The paint still looks perfect. I purchased the swissvax products recommended by another member here and it just wiped the splatter away. It also never looks dirty unlike a black car. I have chosen not to put a clear bra on because when I asked dodge and prefix they believe that the top coat that makes it flat will come off with bra if it is on to long. Nine ball read your 13 pick up story and was great. Also read 98 intrigue about picking up your ta. Love my ta also.

Great story - Now BE SURE to get the oil and filter changed! Very important especially now that you are down to doing all the stop and go - lights driving in South Florida. Drained mine a little less than 1000 miles I believe after being used at VIR and then my Virginia to Ohio drive home. Have put 300 on since change and still clean and on the top full mark. Ridiculously easy with these cars even in your own garage. Cheap insurance.

Hi Doug,
Checked the oil level the drive home on all fill ups. Most of the engine issues were with 2013 and 14. I have a 14 ta also. If you purchased your car new it comes with 4 oil changes. Thanks,
Joshua

That's disturbing. My entire carbon has a matte expel clear bra covering it. Never heard of a top coat coming off and wasn't advised of this. Also, got my car from John as well. Would love to hear more about this. Congrats on the color combo, best one IMO.

not sure it will but they could not confirm that it would not either did not want to take a chance. I see you are selling yours. Are you ordering an ACR?

Ah want so bad. I think my wife would murder me if I sold my 2015 and bought a 2016 LOL. I want a matte color, but I am not telling which!

Ya if I fetch a decent price for mine I'll be hoping into an ACR. In the meantime she remains somewhat a garage queen.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'm officially going with an ACR. Roanoke gave me the best trade in value. I bought it from them so maybe that's why. I'm calling prefix about the anodized carbon and clear bra. My new ACR will be the exact same color.

I emailed John about an unsold Orange TA they had but it was gone already, he told me your car was coming. Ha, tempting. But ehhh
