My local dealer called and said they have an allocation on an ACR so they ordered up a Silver with extreme aero and carbon x brace. They said they would sell it to me at MSRP. I can't snag it though I want it badly. Once it hits the retail floor those bastages will mark it up over sticker. Anyone interested shoot me a PM and I'll make introduction to the GM, Kyle. Or then maybe I'll sell you my '14 Graphite GTS with stripes... :)

Any dealer adding ADM is going to end up losing money, again.

Agreed except the idiots paying $10-$20K over sticker on HellCats in SoCal doesn't help my argument.

Good luck selling it over sticker.

They'll be offered at 8-10K off MSRP a year from now, like every other Viper ever made.
Stay calm and wait.

you pay over sticker that is your fault.

This... Same thing happened with the Gen 4 ACRs.

TooBlue - that's a bad comparison. The recession hit hard about a year after those came out.

That said, don't pay over MSRP, that is idiocy.

No, not paying over sticker. That's the point.

The GM says he will sell at Sticker if someone buys it before it hits the floor.

Why mark it up if it goes on the floor?. They never learn. Like Viper Jon says..just wait a little, and they'll be 10k off soon enough.

Just walk into any SRT dealer and order what you want for sticker and get your name on the dash plaque. Just because your dealer has a early model doesn't make it special. If anything, it will be a vinilla version at an ACR.

I have the ear of the GM and I told him no more than sticker on it, even if it is hot. But he lets the retail guys do their thing to sell cars. They sold 3 hellcats way over sticker because people were willing to do that and they could have moved more. I wouldn't and most of us here wouldn't. Earlier this year I was going to go work with them to handle the SRT stuff. Long story short, as fun as it could be it really didn't make fiscal sense and the few folks I talked to thought I was just going to be another car salesman. I am no Bill P though I am as old and bald as he is I suspect and i was not interested in the car salesman role. In that process I set up an email and domain that I own that is related to the dealers name. When that expires, it will be gone. I now work for an Plastic Injection molding company out of China. If you need plastics from me, I will profit there!

I am no more than the messenger to the GM telling him what I believe the market will tolerate. He and I talk and through me better deals can be arraigned than if you walk into the showroom. The retail manager is responsible for his sales and will try to maximize ever deal. Since I don't make a dime on anything, I don't care if anyone makes a profit. For me it's keeping Vipers selling nothing more. Maybe I provide to much info back to the various boards but whatever. I understand and have said the same comments that you all are saying, you are preaching to the choir.

This dealer was never going to order another Viper for the floor based on what happened on their inventory on the Gen V. They absolutely took a loss on the last three they sold. I helped someone from the boards on the red one. It was at a 10s of thousand dollar loss and they got deal of deals on a brand new Viper and I think it would be hard pressed for someone to claim they did better based on the options on it. But the ACR drove enough excitement with the press the GM decided to order one when he got the opportunity. It is Silver, no stripes, extreme aero, carbon x-brace. It will be a nice looking car and someone will buy it. It was one of the first in the orderbank so it could be one of the first ones arriving. Time will tell if it's at MSRP, or some fatcat with money and a "I have to have it" attitude and goes over sticker or they sit on it for months taking a loss further souring their outlook on the Viper. Keep in mind, they are a for profit business as most are and if profits can't be had off the Viper....well....it's going to be with something else they order. They've been a successful dodge-chrylser dealer for 52+ years they are not new at this. I will tell you, if I could swing it and sell my '14 I'd snag it. But like everyone knows..if I tried to sell mine it wouldn't go for squat cause no one wants to pay for a Viper. it's only worth what, $20K now cause it's been driven, is two model years old and the engine hasn't failed yet.

Not sure why people are shooting the messenger here. Guy was nice enough to share this car and said its avail at MSRP so...

So ACRs aren't like the TA where dealers can't order inventory but only for customer orders? That's surprising.

I'm sure no one means to beat you up personally, this crowd is too savvy to think MSRP is a 'deal' is all, seems the dealer didn't learn much from losing 10s of thousands last time trying to get top dollar but good luck to them, it only takes that 1 buyer.

I am new here, but only because of Carl (catwood). The next time I buy a Viper I'll probably contact him just to see what he has up his sleeve. If he hadn't mediated the deal, I'd probably still be looking for a car. I'd trust him absolutely when it comes to finding a car.

For those that think MSRP on an ACR is a bad deal, I'd suggest a rethink. Sure, it might be down to invoice this time next year, but so would just about anything in the car world. If you want an ACR ASAP, I'd certainly consider talking with Carl!

I'm just happy you got what you want even with the hiccups of registration in VA. That car looked awesome in person and for me it was big debate between that one and my Graphite one that I bought in December.

As much as I want that ACR, it's just not going to be in the cards for me. I've gotten old enough that I can't take advantage of the full potential sadly. I figure to pass out the info to those that want it. If I can help with a favor, good.

Supply and Demand.

Cars, iPhones and many other products get sold at crazy prices here before or during launch just because some people are willing to pay that price. Sucks for the rest of us.

Personally I wouldn't even pay MSRP!
