Hello,

After an unfortunate hiatus from Viper ownership, I bought a 2015 Black SRT over the weekend.

I am VERY impressed with the upgrades for 2015. Firstly, the lowered seat position makes a BIG difference (I wasn't clever enough to remove those bolts from my 2013). I'm know looking through the center of the windshield and it feels much more comfortable.

The interior is also noticeably improved, love the contrasted stitching and Alcantara inserts. Build quality is also better, my panel lines are all perfect. I had issues with front fascia alignment on my 2013. No squeaks or rattles, again different than my 2013.

It also seems like the suspension has been slightly tweaked. It's still quite stiff, but traction is much better on uneven/undulating surfaces. Not sure if this is real or just my perception.

Finally, I can now turn off the running lights. :) I like the look better without them...more sinister. :D

Overall, I am extremely happy with my new car, it feels like a big upgrade from my last one. So happy to back in a Viper, best driving experience out there!

I only have iPhone photos at the moment, hopefully will take some real pictures soon.

The thread's title is about idle speed but your post doesn't mention it. The Gen 5s idle at a 1000 rpms for the first 500 or so miles and then they settle back down to 750 rpms.

Good to know, I noticed today that it has dropped to the 800s or so. Sorry for the mis-direction... :)

I have sidwinder's and black car, holy nightmare to keep clean. :z:

It's like my paint is static charged to attract dust and dirt. Not to mention I can't even touch my door handle to open it as huge ugly smudge marks get everywhere. I think I may plasti-dip the exterior door flap, silly design to have that painted.

I remarked to Roanoke that my 15 idled higher too- had oil changed at 700 miles and its down to 750 from 1000-interesting!!

Thank you for the kind words!

I love this thing, but as Zybane said - keeping her clean is like a second job. Just washed her again tonight!

I have noticed the idle slowly dropping depending on conditions. Also, the cruise exhaust volume is a bit different, sort of like there is less drone. It's a bit louder below 2000 rpms, but a it quieter above 2000 rpms. This makes highway cruising (in the 75-85 mph range) more comfortable than before.

Overall, I like this car a lot more than my 2013 and more importantly - so does my wife. ;)

Welcome back, Nick!

Once bitten, you could not escape the venom. It slowly worked it's way to your heart and overruled your senses, haha :icon_devil:
