I'd really prefer to run a stainless air intake like I ran on my old Viper, but I haven't seen one for sale in like years:smilielol:
Has anyone done anything to their K&N intakes other than bolt them in and go? Paint/vinyl wrap etc? I'll probably polish the intake manifold, so I'd like to eliminate the cheap looking plastic if at all possible. Just looking for ideas...pic of my old setup just because:icon_devil:

There was a Hennessey intake on either ebay or craigslist recently...only if I would have known you were in the market back then.

I've been on the look out for the intake piping also. Can't seem to find one anywhere. Also, where are you getting your intake manifold polished out at?

Have you looked into Hydro Dipping? I think that would be the best method for what your looking for. I know alot of guys do it for under hood parts.

That one I did myself, but at the time didn't really have the correct tools to get it up to my standards. I found another intake for cheap that I sent to Mirror Finish Polishing and had it done. It was like $700 though, but it was a much nicer product. He also had it for double the time he quoted me, but since I had the one in the picture above, I was okay with it. Here is the one he did that I installed on my next Viper, and you can see, much nicer. He also polished down into the center of the long intake runners.

Yup, I'm back baby. I can't lie though, I'm prepping for a Gen V. It's gonna be two years though I think. I'm going to try my best to just keep this car until then, and quit trading around lol

Well, I haven't honestly, but you're probably right. No matter if you paint, wrap or hydrodip, you're going to have to sand the pattern off the part...so there won't be any shortcutting the labor involved!
