She told me she has no interest in driving the CTS-V so off we went in the Viper. She never stalled it and did great for a first-timer in the Viper. She told me she wants to take it out without me as I made her nervous, lol. No way I told her(of course I would) between the car and your looks there might be a crowd following her home,lol....She also owns a 2004 Z-4,2013 650Xi, and a beautiful 1 of 1 color combo in the US, 2002 BMW Z8 so she knows how to drive a manual plus shes not a real speed nut..My keeper with our Viper...............

That's cool. I let my wife drive my GTS the second day I had it. She loved it, and then started dissing my S2000 I gave her to drive for the summer. I didn't see that coming. Dough!

My 'Ex Z-06 owner' wife is more afraid of our HellCat Clone (607HP-6sp ) than the Viper. We went to an Old-Timers Cruise this weekend with the '49 Dodge, and she's REALLY afraid to drive the Forty-Niner, so she followed in the ACR. Lotsa funny looks at registration when she simply parked the Viper in the spectator parking area! It drew an instant crowd as usual.

I hate to say it, but after two weeks of short drives in my S2000, I'm considering selling it and getting something else. It feels like I'm driving a Honda Civic with the roof cut off when I compare it to the Viper. :-(

Heh, I sold my S2000 years ago, but it is not really as bad as you make it out to be. What it is really like is driving a Honda Civic Si with the top cut off, compared to the Viper.....hehe.

I wont let my wife drive the car yet.
I don't think she really respects it.

My wife is AWESOME!! Can't drive a manual, however she LOVES to be driven anywhere in my Vipers!! Truly a great time having her next to me- quietly texting on her phone and having a BLAST being driven by yours truly!!

My wife wouldn't drive the car if her life depended on it. She's almost too nervous in it to be a passenger.

Sometimes my wife lets me take out her Viper and go race it. But only if I wash it and fill up the tank when I get back.

I have driven my S2000 once since I got the Viper. I have considered selling it, but it really is a great little car. Bulletproof convertible. I think I'll hang onto it for a while. Too many great memories.
Here are some pics of my wife driving the Viper for the first time. She is laughing her ass off after flooring it for a second. The "serious" pic is her looking for traffic as we pull out onto the hwy. She isn't messing around....hahaha.

Lol...couldn't agree more...I came from a Civic SI to S2000 CR; and then on to a Viper. The wife drove my Gen I once in the 5 years I had it & has NO interest in driving the Gen V which is fine with me...

Mine started talking more about learning to drive the Viper after meeting you two in NoLa Richard :-)
...but it hasn't happened yet... we need to get past the stick shift lessons on my FoST first.
in the meantime she races her SRT Jeep with the bunch of us in AutoX.

I also used to have a Civic Si (FG2) as well, :-P . The Civic Si and S2000 are great around town cars, but my S2000 is/was a weekend car so the thrill of an agile roadster has completely died since driving the Viper. That's the only bad thing about the Viper; it has ruined my other favorite car. The steering wheel thickness is about that of a twizzler, the steering has zero feel, and the pedals are offset to the right (haha, not really but when I went to depress the clutch and brake after driving the Viper for 100 miles, I ended up trying to depress the dead pedal and clutch in the S2000).

My wife is as much a car nut as I am she has her own Viper, Lambo, Corvettes, etcetera
We are going to Sebring this weekend I am going to get her more involved in racing and let her start driving my car at some serious speed I just hope she's not alot faster than me
She runs our performance shop and carbon fiber shop
She prefers driving stick over auto
Loves to chase me through traffic and not afraid to get her hands dirty working on the cars
Would rather get Performance mods over jewelry
Married 28 years and still wears the same clothes she wore in high school
She's something very special

This thread honestly illustrates the most cogent argument for not producing a Viper with an auto as an option. Having a manual as the only option is the most elegant way for forward thinking men (read that: guys who quietly ensure that their spouses can't drive stick) to keep their cars in one piece.

Oh no! Now I have to jump in!!!! What outdated thinking!!! Meet me at the racetrack - look for the black ACR-X and let's see who can drive a stick!!! My first car was a '71 pinto with 4 on the floor . . . .

Dang that's awesome. I've never even seen a Viper on a track. That's what I need though. Go to the track and ride passenger a few times in a Viper- then race mine.

Yep that's always fun right?? At VIR I was passing a guy on the inside of the Oak Tree turn when my car unexpectedly died so he passed me. I caught up with him later and passed him. He was on the podium for his class and I was on it for my class. I turned to him and apologized for my car dying in that turn and his double take was absolutely classic and he said "That was you in the black ACR"??? I said yep and you were passed by a girl !!!

Mine bugs me all the time about letting her drive the Viper. But I'm pretty sure if I threw her the keys she would shit her pants. She'd be too nervous about wrecking a car that she thinks I love more than her. lol. One of these days I will let her drive a short stint of a highway road trip, but she definitely isn't getting into it without me in the car. Fortunately she is plenty happy riding shotgun on trips.
Each time my wife takes the car out, I get pictures of the car in the mail a couple weeks later asking for money...
