A brief background before going into the details of this thread. I recently joined this forum after the news came out about the new gen v viper acr. After reading all the info i could gather and spoke to both Bill from Woodhouse and Bernie from Viperexchange about the viper acr a couple of months back. Both gave me great feedback and answered all of my questions and inquiries and imho these kind of people and dealerships are an asset for the viper community.
However, after acknowledging the fact that for any new purchase the car should stay for a period between 6-9 state side before exporting it, and I'm not lucky to have a knowledgable dealer here to order the car as most if not all cars in our part of the world is through importing from the states. Thus will incur more cost due to taxes and storage etc. Not to mention that i already have another track car and not even considering selling at all so the idea of an acr or another track car is out of the question. As i don't think its worth it to buy an acr and not track it.
After taking the acr out of the equation i still had the need to get a viper as i still miss my old gen 3 viper which unfortunately was totalled due to street racing and reckless driving from my side which i didn't enjoy for long. This was about 8 years ago which by then i became more into road racing and a better driver. So I thought I should get a gen v and enjoy it and maybe the occasional track day (3-4 days a year). I decided to look for a viper ta as i think dodge nailed it to be a little more track oriented than both the gts and srt and still could be enjoyed on the streets.
After a couple of weeks looking a found the right viper ta in black the same colour as my previous gen 3. Everything is sorted just waiting for the paperwork to be received back to the dealer and for Reliable carriers to pick up the car.
Couple of pictures of the car.

Now to the build.
Reliable carriers will ship the car from the dealership to Andrew Wheeler at viper exchange for Arrow stage 2 H/C package in the next couple of weeks. At first i was just considering a headers and exhaust with arrow pcm and ship it back to home. But after reading all the info provided and the people involved in this kit and also the many emails and calls to Andy i decided to go ahead with it. My reasons behind my decision was that this kit has extensive testing on the mule car (more than 10,000 miles) and both the 2 cars that had the kit ran without any issues. Yes it may be a little overpriced but the r/d in this kit and the dedication for this kit is beyond any vendor would do. The way i see it is that its like if it is a factory offering.
On my old gen 3 viper i had belanger headers and exhaust and really loved it and was planning to get the same for my ta but this was back in 2006 i guess, so i searched what new offerings there are in the viper world. I came across Bad Boyz Garage, Toddy Gomez. His involvement in the acr-x headers and a 5-into-1 headers was just astonishing. A good friend of mine that used to live in California with a gen 4 coupe ssg with black stripes gave me great feedback about his garage and Toddy personally and that he took care of his car and had his mods done at his garage. When i searched the forums i didn't see much info but came across a thread in the gen3/4 for a blue/black acr with BBG Shorty headers and his feedback about them was great and also numerous calls and emails with Toddy got me convinced to go ahead with BBG Shorty headers. Me and Toddy both decided to get the headers coated at JET HOT as it helps with the heat and also the temperatures here are ridiculous ( today was 51 Celsius). A Corsa exhaust will compliment the headers. After the headers get coated they will get shipped with the exhaust directly to Andy so he can fit them with the H/C package.

I think they look like a piece of art and i just want to put them in my living room !!
While reading and searching in the forums i have noticed that IAT makes a huge difference on the viper and living in a hot country this is something vital. I came across Doug Shelby heat shield and with his findings and from everyone on the forum noticing the difference its a no brainer. I wanted to order a kit but states that they will ship out 10 of August. However i came across a thread for a new heat shield for sale with other parts that i'm looking for, Ipsco pulley and belt and also SS brake lines. It was a quick simple transaction with forum member Victxv10 and got them shipped to Andy so he can install them whenever the car and other parts get to him.
This is so far what I've got with for now, although i would love to find a catch can kit for the car and also a couple of accessories and most probably new tires which I think I'll get them from JonB.
I'll update this thread as time passes and how things move along and also with any new additions to what have stated above. I'm hoping that both Andy and Toddy as well will do the same also in pictures etc. Expecting the car to be done hopefully by the second week of August if things go to plan. I'll ask if Andy can get me a before and after dyno as well both for me and also for you guys that may be on the fence of the kit.
At the end I would like to thank both Andy from Viperexchange and Toddy from Bad Boyz Garage for all of their support and helping me out with my build. As I'm about halfway around the world. I won't be able to give any driving impression until i get the car which will it'll take 2-3 months to get the car here after its done. Which is perfect as it'll be track season here that time of year with cool weather.
Thanks and sorry for the long post,
Yousif
Update: Car has been shipped on the 24th of July heading to Viper Exchange, video below. It should arrive in the next couple of hours. Hopefully Andy or the crew of Viper exchange could snap some pictures of the car.

Its a shame that these beautiful headers won't be shown as much under the hood of our cars !!
They will be shipped in the next couple of days to Andy at Viper Exchange with the Corsa exhaust to add them with the H/C package, heat shield and Ipsco pulley. Hopefully when Andy gets back from his Viper drive in Colorado and closer to the release of the H/C I'll ask him for a before and after dyno pulls.
Thanks

Yes sure i can't wait to track it and compare to my other car, imo a sports car should be driven on a race track where it really shines.

What dealer did you pick that up from? Because I just bought black TA #5 from Normandin in San Jose, and am waiting for them to pick up my 99 ACR, so they can send me the TA, Not being able to drive my ACR is driving me nuts and I hate getting rid of such an awesome car, but I love the new tech on the gen V although IMO the Gen 2 will always look the best.
I talked to the owner yesterday and he told me he was getting shipping ready and would call me back, I believe he mentioned the same shipper.

Given the heat where you live, I would also install the Doug Shelby Engineering air box heat shield. Maybe put an additional layer of insulation on the shield too.

I already got it from forum member Victxv10, and yes an additional layer of insulation will help. I'm also thinking of wrapping the corsa exhaust with DEI to keep the heat levels down.

Toddy aided in designing the ACR-X/ARH header design from what I understand.
That said, the BBG shorties offer a superior joint as the collector tubes interlock within the flange from some other pics I've seen.
Yes, they're easily 2x the money. Will they make 2x the power? Doubt it. I honestly think you'd need some more compression and another 500-1000RPM on the redline to see the BBG's start making more power up high.
And of course all the Arrow PCM work has been with the ARH headers, a lot to be said for that. I just want to see IF the BBG shorties offer any power superiority to the ARH units. Cost be damned, I just want to see a set dyno'd on a Gen5, LOL.
Sorry to OP for thread derailment. No doubt you have a great build lined up and we're all looking forward to the results. Hope you enjoy the car in the end!

These are the same points besides how they look got me to go with BBG headers, plus as stated i'll go with the ViperExchange/Arrow heads and cam package and this might work better with BBG headers. I may be mistaken, but in the end people here on the forum could see the differences and may help with their decisions. Last thing, thank you but it'll be a while until i get the car here.

Yes for sure before and after numbers and also publish them here in the forums at the end of the day we are small crowd (compared to other car marques) and if there is any way to help other forum members with their decision or a vendor that could support his products than I am more than open to share that info.

I think warranty goes away with any sort of modifications done to the car so yes. If your going with headers you can go with a catback if you don't want your stock exhaust and want a louder setup. Also I think you should consider a PCM, to my knowledge its either Arrow PCM or HPTuners right now.

I'm going with a Corsa exhaust with the headers, also doing Viper Exchange H/C package with Arrow PCM. I think you can have these headers w stock exhaust, double check with Toddy at BBG. Cant comment on expected dyno increase as I'm not only doing the headers, but from what I have researched pretty much all headers offered give about the same power figures with slight differences.

Update: Talked to Andy this past week and informed me that the packages will be ready soon and has asked me to ship over the headers and exhaust from Toddy @ BBG over to him (it was done for a while now but kept at Toddy's so I don't cramp VE with all of the stuff that i had shipped over to them, harness, tires, ipsco tow hook etc, thanks Jon B). Toddy has assembled the headers to know where each part goes and makes it easier for the guys at VE when they assemble them, and they'll get shipped on Monday.
I just acknowledged that I started this thread about a month and a half ago when i had already purchased the car, headers and exhaust. If I had already shipped the car it would've been here already and enjoying driving it. However with all the r&d, testing, Andy's review and videos of his car with the heads and cam I know it'll be worth the wait. Below are a couple of pics of the headers assembled and after Jet Hot coating before getting installed in the car which hopefully won't be long now.

Although it has been a while since i updated this thread but now things are all getting aligned. With the other cars before me are getting done at VE Andy will start working on my car next week. I had asked Andy for a before and after dyno with 4 runs to have an average and Andy as always was more than helpful working with me and had the car dyno last week.
To be honest the numbers are a bit disappointing (can be seen in the end of the video and as soon as i get the dyno sheets i'll post them up) however the weather wasn't that helpful when it was done and the car was parked for months without being driven. Hopefully after everything gets installed it'll show good numbers and also when i get the car i'll drive for a couple hundred miles and re-dyno.
Again thanks for all forum viper vendors for providing great products for the gen v platform and also VE and Andy which was more than helpful and this build couldn't be done with the support.
Thanks

Congrats and great build. I'm surprised you didn't go for the VE suspension package while you are at it. It seems the ticket for street and track. Flatout just posted in another thread that a TA 1.0 like yours with their active suspension actually beat Ralph in his ACR extreme by 1 sec on a minimal to no down force track. Not to spend your money for you but just sayin since you originally wanted an ACR :D

I was thinking about them and also the VE BBK but to i'd love to track it first and get an idea then decide on which to focus on first. Yes the VE suspension seems superior with the technology and being changed depending on variables but i'm also interested in Ohlins suspension kit as i have tracked a couple of cars with KW, JRZ, Ohlins, Motons and nothing comes close to Ohlins in terms of reliability, service and performance. All i know of is that Toddy at BBG made an Ohlins kit for the viper but i didn't want to ask him about them now so i don't pull the trigger sooner than planned and i'm leaning to go with the BBK first then decide about suspension either VE suspension, Ohlins or any new market offering.
I've seen Andy's post on instagram yesterday and will read the other thread and although Randy Pobst was driving the TA and Ralph in the ACR isn't any less of a driver either so that shows how good the suspension is working with both cars running the same tires.

Your car should be on the lift tomorrow!
As for the suspension I'll put an active setup against any static shock no matter how good it is any time anywhere. Ben feels that strongly about it and so do I. It's the real deal, and you don't lose your electronic dual mode system.

Yes, relatively a low number compared to other gen v.
Theres another gen iv with BBG shorty headers that had posted his numbers but you might be right as i haven't seen any for a gen v numbers posted, but numbers/gains should be similar between both gens.

I'd take care of both sides unless I missed the update to 2016 spec valve cover. From there it's a choice of vented or sealed and if you choose vented now there's an option for a single can or one on each side... Lots of options. A prototype dual input vented setup might be on the way down there as early as next week, not sure when your car leaves. Like I said the installation is easy so just pick what you feel is best for you.

We overnight them back to Arrow and they are overnighted back with the Stage 2 calibration that ViperExchange developed with Dick W. In this case it was overnighted there then sent ground back hence the extra day or two.

Andy just took my car to the dyno to see the results after the heads and cam package. Again as mentioned earlier my car had a low base line number and the weather wasn't that helpful.
Below is the highest number achieved for both the base line and after the kit.

I'm very very happy with the results and astonished with the area under the curve.
As a recall I have purchased my car around June/July and have been waiting since then. I could have shipped the car back with an Arrow stage 1 and could have been driving it for more than a month. But i didn't and waited all that period until the package was available for sale as i've seen from different threads the efforts and testing from the Arrow mule to the VE test cars. Andy has been more than helpful and great throughout the whole period and went the extra mile. This build again wouldn't have been done without his help and his 24/7 support and availability. Thanks again Andy big time !!

I have put maybe a total of 15 miles on the build even though it's gone through a few heat cycles. Temps in the dyno shop today were cooler but the IAT's were still in a range where it was pulling some timing. I think it has 660 SAE in it with all the timing in and a few more miles on the car.

It was my first time on track in the viper but throughout the day confidence build up and i was pushing it mid day. The car was neutral with some slight understeer in a couple of corners. After that track day i had changed my alignment a little bit more aggressive than ACR and it was better on track.
