I found the Corsa cat-back exhaust . Sound:extreme. do they make them in non extreme? A little confused with the different levels.
On ebay it says pick

Touring.
not sure if that is correct.

A little history.
1. The first mule was preproduction.
2. My car was the first production mule. The muffler from the preproduction car was too loud on my car, this was their decision.
3. The next permutation (installed on my car) was sold as the final design.
4. Somewhere along the line, they decided even the second design was too loud and they were going to offer a third design for those that wanted quiet. I lost track at that point.

No, not too loud, just perfect with the stock manifolds, louder and crisper than stock with reduced drone and more burble and pops on decel. But then I purchased Belanger headers and figured it would now become too loud for me, so I got a set of used AR mufflers from a member here, wich are quieter and deeper sounding than stock to go with the headers.
Since I put those on with the Arrow PCM I think it sounds just fine, so the Belanger are collecting dust on a shelf, untill I want the extra sound and HP. I just dont want it too loud anymore since I do some road trips with the wife, just did 700 miles last week-end, and also on track days we have to be under 93db.

so with OEM upper exhaust its a little louder than stock? meaning ONLY cat back... I really don't want it too loud. I bought it for no drone at 80mph and some HP...

They both still have some drone but much less than the stock mufflers.
Compared to stock, to me the Corsa are like if you would turn the Volume up 2 notches and the Treble up 1
With the American Racing it's like you turn the Volume down 1 notch and up the Bass 2 notches.

That's my biggest fear! Too loud. I hated my stock exhaust on my ride home from the track. I guess driving hard opened the exhaust up more, cause 1500 rpms on the highway way painful. I was hoping to do just ARH with high flow cats and calling it a day. I wonder if ARH, hi flows and Corsa would be too much. Or just the entire ARH exhaust with hi flows.

Just curious if the aftermarket cat back exhaust make HP? the stock is a straight through design. Just wondering were they make up the HP over the stocker. It is said to flow 18% better but wondering how much HP is that in the real world. Just asking.

I think its b/c the cats are off the Catback , Similar to a GTR getting a mid pipe without cats. At least that is what Paul PDV told me.

The exhaust you have posted in your first post is just a cat back system. It does not get rid of the cats it bolts on to the factory cats. Just wondering if it has been tested independently by any members. I know it will sound different and some say help with drone but was really wondering if it makes any HP.

To me the cat's are the restrictive part of the exhaust more so than the mufflers. They use two different type of cats. The front ones are the " honeycomb ceramics" and the rears use "metal foil" cats. Roe racing did a dyno test a few years ago GEN 3/4 and picked up 18-21 HP by removing the cats. Hope someone makes them for the Gen 5 soon. The stock mufflers are a straight through design as are the Corsa,I think it will sound good by the way but picking up HP not sure?

I dont want to burst a bubble, but: THE YEAR MATTERS ! The happy guy above may have a G2 by his avatar. IRRELEVANT to G 5!!!
Corsa does a fantastic job at eliminating drone and resonance from 1996.5 - 2010.
The revised Gen 5 system "Minimizes" the drone, and puts it in a different, less invasive rev band. And its different on 2015 than 2013-4 due to the gearing. MINIMIZED but not -gone- and Vegas you sure dont owe me ANY apology! You even ASKED if any Vendor was recommened... [I blame the OTHER 1642 owners who did not say "JONB" !!!]
The HP gains are actually minumal, single-digit. Hard to 'prove' due to dyno accuracy of 9 HP.
COOL TEMPS, Better Tone , more decibel volume, and better flow are the primary reasons to switch.

lol! No bubble burst here Jon! I consider you a Viper guru and you have been around for as long as I can remember and you know Vipers. Dig a little deeper and you will see the Avarta is a G3 not G2 ( Bad picture of last year IL VOA summer cruise) . I also own a G5, so this "happy guy" is very happy thanks. So like you said "THE YEAR MATTERS" I have never seen any dyno test done by any of the member and that's all I was asking I'm sure it's out there some were but just never seen any, and wondering what are the real world gains seeing the stock is a straight through design and also what I was told by SRT in regards to the viper muffles. If you also dig a little bit deeper you will see that we have meet before the last time you were in Wisconsin attending Road America, Ralph Gilles placed 3th in that race, we also talked a few weeks ago about some parts I order. Do you remember me now? :) I order parts for my G3 and G5 from you. Thanks

If anyone is interested i ordered my 2015 TA2.0 with the stage II package from Viper Exchange, I had my entire American Racing exhaust system coated by Polydyn Coatings for heat from headers to tips. I am replacing the ARH cat back system if anyone is interested in it. It has about 500 miles on it and is fully ceramic coated black to reduce heat as much as possible. Retail on ARH website for this stainless set up is $1920, mine has the coating but is used so make me a reasonable offer if interested. I am in San Antonio, TX.
The ARH cat back is a much richer, deeper exhaust sound than stock.

I have Corsa plus Arrow PCM and:
1. Corsa is quieter than Stock below 2,000 rpms but louder on throttle.
2. Both have some drone.

Well, the car was already awesome, but I do like it better with the changes. It is a bit more aggressive sounding and smoother running. This is not a daily driver for me so I like it a bit more spirited.
As noted in another thread, the Arrow PCM appears to just be the tune that SRT prefers for the car. Smoother idle, a bit lower tone, LOTS of decal burble (so you will clutch to neutral or just clutch in on cost-down and not engine brake where noise is an issue), etc. The car may rev quicker but hard to say for sure. I also understand that the rev limited has been raised by 200 rpms or something but this is rarely an issue with my use (no need to live at redline). There does not appear to be any significant increase in power with these changes, although I am sure there is a little--it felt like it had smooth, linear power before and after. NOTE: I am in SoCal running 91 Octane, so my gains would be incrementally less than someone running 93. The Corsa Exhaust definitely makes the car sound more lively. I will say that Gen V Stock Exhaust is far better sounding than Gen IV Stock Exhaust (I had a Gen IV and also added the Corsa Exhaust).

My system is 3" cat back, I picked up that pick from the net (not from my car), might be the angle of the pic though. Their full headers/cats/ exhaust is 3" to the tail pipes.
SilveRT8

You can get both sizes from Belanger.
Their standard system is 3" after the cats, connecting to 3" mufflers
You can also get, like I did and the pic above, a neck down to 2 1/2" after the cats to fit the stock mufflers wich have a 2 1/2" inlet going into a 3" mufflers.

I often thought this was the best idea, for keeping the side sills safe, but you'll have to remind them to take the measurements of where the tips should land, and the angle, as they wont be able to test fit the sills if you have them.

Hopefully they can just take measurements beforehand and line up the new pipes where the old ones where. But worst case I can just load the sills in the truck and make 2 trips out there.
