I removed the dash to replace a gauge and found this loose in the AC ducting behind the three outlets in the center of the dash. It was loose, could not see anything that would hold it, and there was not another one. Anybody recognize it? It's white opague plastic, about 3" diameter, about 0.060" thick, relatively stiff and the exit hole side still has burrs.

Looks like an IUD for an assembly robot.

Solved. It's an air flow restrictor for the passenger crotch vent. The plastic ducting that connects the blower housing to crotch vent and central duct plenum has internal dimples to hold this disc at the crotch vent outlet. When installed, you should be able to see or feel it from the passenger crotch outlet.

5 phillips head screws to remove the knee bolster, about 8 screws to remove the frame behind it, one screw to detach the plastic ducting, about 8 minutes time.

My Gen 1 had a large metal washer with a ~1.5" hole - I should have remembered that and took notice there was no restriction when I removed the dash. I assume someone poked it while the fan was on, which blew it upwards toward the driver's side. Thanks to Clint Shearer for the info.

Glad out you figured out Tom. It looks like one of the sausage grinder dyes that I use on my meat grinder.
