Am I crazy?
I've placed my order as a Red with GTS Stripes in tribute to this fine machine. May even sticker it like the ALMS race car:
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3935/15438874140_2cbf10b68c_b.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/pwhgpb)The real #93 (https://flic.kr/p/pwhgpb) by solomontodd (https://www.flickr.com/photos/20879698@N02/), on Flickr
Then I saw this. My daughter fell in love with this, and it blows me away too, but it's a pricey upgrade:
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3748/19420459808_da8f0abaf3_b.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/vA7W6W)GTS-R Blue / Black / Red (https://flic.kr/p/vA7W6W) by solomontodd (https://www.flickr.com/photos/20879698@N02/), on Flickr
Then I realized that the one above is about $1600 more than a Stryker Orange, which is my favorite of pretty much all colors (tied with Stryker Red, LOL):
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3680/19421923579_efa3a9436b_b.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/vAfren)Stryker Orange (https://flic.kr/p/vAfren) by solomontodd (https://www.flickr.com/photos/20879698@N02/), on Flickr
Here's the catch: I was steering away from Stryker Orange for a track car, but I think it actually would be harder to repaint the GTS-R Blue / Black Stripe / Red Driver's Stripe and get it right, including the perfectly flat seams between colors. So I think Stryker Orange may actually be ok. Am I nuts? The smartest thing would be to get a solid color, no stripes. Easiest to repair / repaint. But I'm thinking about Stryker Orange. I already had a partial repaint of my Stryker Red on the nose and hood, after tearing my bumper cover in a parking lot of all places. You absolutely cannot tell that it's not factory paint, the shop did a perfect job.
Am I nuts to consider Stryker Orange?
PS- photo credits to Schen and Tomball, thanks guys

You could always get both. You will have less (track)miles on 2 Vipers. You & your daughter will be very happy, + when she can drive. You can really have fun! lol

Off the subject....
Has anyone inquired as to how much the ALMS hood and bumpers would cost?
They are wider aren't they? I cant remember when I saw them at CAAP.
The orange car will definitely "pop" more at the track that's for sure.
I'll be clearer on my opinion.
GTS-R combo is pure sexy beast.
All the others are great, but you're going the full Monty on an ACR, I'd get baddest looking combo I like, and that GTS-R is nutz.

Which color will make you feel less inhibited on the track? I realize that the actual cost to repair might not be a financial consideration; but, it is sometimes a psychological one, especially for those guys that earned all those pennies working for a living over a long time.
Personally, I think the red/white is a great choice; especially if you are keeping the other car for the street.
P.S. I hear those same voices in my head.

This resonates with me. I love the GTS-R Blue, but not if it shows dirt like crazy. It's dust at the track. My Stryker Red on the other hand hides it, as I'm sure does your Stryker Orange (congrats!).
Plus, the Orange will pop like this on the track, it looks very racy...

I think I'd be most concerned about repairing a triple-color striped car, even more so than the Stryker Orange. Good advice.
I don't seem to have much of a problem with inhibition on the track, it's one of my blind spots LOL. I buy track day insurance every HPDE just in case.

You might consider solid adrenaline red and add vinyl white stripe if your concerned about an eventual repair ...

You already have a red, I say get the blue ACR with extreme.
Regardless of what color you buy, get it wrapped with protective film. Once its on, you can wash it however you like two-bucket/touch-less/by hand/with dishwasher soap/local $2 hand wash. Your car will always look great and after a year or two of tracking, peel the film back and you have a mint paint job. Either wrap it again or leave it if your not tracking your car as often or selling it. I really wouldn't base my decision on maintenance of the paint, and I mean no offense when I say that!! Get the colour you would love to see in your garage every day! (obv a viper in every colour would be ideal :) +1 GTSR blue with extreme!!! =D

Red and white! Stickered out it will look amazing and one of a kind! Stryker orange is too much like your Stryker Red, people will just think you bolted on a wing to your GTS and put badges on it. Lol.
The darker blue colors in my mind will show swirls and scratches much more and be a pain to keep up on for a track car. I wish I didn't like the look of white so much as it's a pain in the ass to clean tire rubber marks off after a good track day.

Hey Todd....are you planning on trading the STRYKER RED or just adding to the fleet? If you're keeping the Stryker Red than add the Blue with Stripe! If you're trading the STRYKER Red than get the STRYKER ORANGE! The colour is gorgeous...(maybe almost as gorgeous as the STRYKER you already own LOL!)! and I think you'll miss not having the depth/pop of a STRYKER if you just have the one Blue or Red !!!!!!!!!!..IMHO BUT.... if you're trading in the STRYKER RED ..why do it for almost the same colour....(STRYKER ORANGE?!)...you may as well keep the original? ..BUT then on the other hand???!!!!!!!!!....LOL!

I like all of those variations, so I'm no help. I really like the ACR driver's side stripe, could do without the black centerband stripe. That blue car with just a single red stripe would pop for sure.
Imagine this in GTS-R blue.

Haha, I don't feel too bad now as you guys are about as evenly split between the three choices as my fatigued brain!
I have to admit that there are a fair number of red or red/white Vipers in my neck of the woods, so there's a side of me that wants something different. Although stickering it like the race cars would be epic, I'm still thinking hard about doing that.
I am a little worried about the GTS-R Blue with wide black stripe showing all the little dings and chips you get on the track. Agreed on clear wrapping it, that has saved my Stryker Red from many a chip, but you still see the little dings and tears in the clear wrap. The Stryker Orange however will hide minor imperfections better than a dark color.
Starting to lean hardest towards the Stryker Orange, although such a hard choice. Heck, the Competition Blue with black stripes is bad ass too.

I priced out the 1 of 1 ACR Vs. a standard color ACR, and by the time you get the CCBs and ACR interior, it ends up to be $8,700 more for identically equipped cars. Seeing how I'm stretching to buy this, I'm gonna have to pass on doing custom colors.

Hi Maureen, long time no talk!
Hard to say. The plan is to keep both but I will have to see down the road if I can afford that. And I don't know which I would sell, to be honest. Very hard decision. But if I were forced to sell the Stryker Red, it would help if I were left with a Stryker Orange ACR. I used to have an Orange Camaro along with my Stryker Red Viper, it didn't feel like they were similar in color. I think a Stryker Red next to a Stryker Orange would be so damned gorgeous they would each stand on their own. Imagine replacing the bow tie with a nice ACR...

For some reason I've never really been moved by the driver's stripe, except on the GTS-R Blue / Black / Red ACR and the VooDoo ACR. The fat ACR stripe next to the red driver's stripe balances it to my eye.

Something about winged trackable supercars and bright colors go together. This P1 was at Sears Point a while back when I was tracking my Viper with a bunch of McLarens. I think a Stryker Orange ACR Extreme would have a similar eye-popping appeal...

In your first post you mentioned that you had placed your order already
How long do you have to change the color or rather, what is the deadline as far as when it goes into production to make this change (and will the dealer let you know when this is) ?
.....and the Stryker Orange would be an amazing looking ride. Would you paint the Boeing wing or leave it exposed carbon ? Also, I believe there are no stripe options on Stryker colors...is that right ?

Because the factory is closed for another week or so, I think my dealer can sneak in a change to the order. Exposed carbon all the way. Correct, no stripe option so the black wheels, carbon bits and the big carbon wing will be needed to complement the orange.

Take it from a guy who has the same Stryker Red car as you, (I've had mine since April 2013)...."Nothing" stands out more in a sea of other cars or Vipers for that matter. Waiting for this ACR is a lot like a second date with the hottest chick you've ever been out with. She was very late on the first date and you almost dumped her, but boy were you glad you waited because she was hotter than you could have imagined.
But instead of a second date, you've been given permission to date her equally hot sister at the same time, and she's notoriously late too. So while I'm waiting for Orange Crush to show up, I will have my fun with Halle Berry :t1509:

Like you I already have a VIN number so that is encouraging at least. Maybe Dodge learned it lesson and will build customer sold orders first this time. Unlike you my TA is going away next week to have all my parts taken off and readied for the ACR so I'll be Viperless till the new one shows up. Hate that I am going to miss the COTA track day in September as that would be the perfect track to try out all that aero!
