Seriously thinking about making the move from my 2010 Gen IV to a 2015 Gen V. Hard to decide because I love my current vert. Toxic orange with black stripes, full tan leather interior, custom audio, and only 2500 miles. Thoughts?

Not sure were you are located but have someone take you for a ride in a Gen 5, you maybe surprised. That's the best way to get some good real world feed back.

Just my opinion. You already enjoyed your Gen 4. Life is short, try something new and get a Gen 5.

That's pretty much what's pushing me that direction. Haven't driven a Gen V but have heard it's quite nice.

I absolutely love my Gen V GTS. Without question, it's a world class vehicle. Tech, leather, performance, build quality, aesthetics. I researched this purchase for about a year and a half, looking at Z06, Gallardo, 360/430, etc..... Just an incredible package.

Good!! To me the car as made leaps and bounds over the last Gen's. More so than going from a Gen1 to a Gen 2 or Gen 3 to a Gen 4. This is just my personal opinion. In each Gen's there as always been improvements over the last Gen but it seem as if they SRT, payed more attention to small details. Just one example, the one thing we all touch when we drive our cars. The steering wheel. The feel of the Gen 5 steering wheel to me is so much nicer than my Gen 3, that the car just feels more refined.

Miss my 2010 ACR. If I could go back I shouldn't have traded it for my gen v. However I love driving my gen v better if that makes sense

I drive them back to back (4's & 5's) all the time and love the 5's.

I have had a gen 3,4,and two 5's. No regrets whatsoever with the V.

Moved from a Gen 3 to 5, and 110% worth it. Yes, these cars still have some build quality issues (at least my 2013 does), but I think they have been ironed out for 2015. If you can afford to keep you current car, then keep it, but if you have to trade, do it!

My Gen 5 interior makes my Gen 3 feel kinda low-rent and junky. I just avoid driving both cars on the same day, so I'm less likely to compare them. :)

Probably comes down to how much you value the open air experience, unless you're looking at a Medusa. I'm a vert guy first, and just had to keep ours.

If you try the Gen V, you won't look back. I have had Gen 1-V, Gen V is by far the best car in every way. If you can find a VOA member in your area with a Gen V, maybe you can get a ride in one and check it out. Good luck.

This^^^^ is a really good idea. A no pressure environment, just out for a cruise. Good call.

That Stryker Orange Medusa is beautiful if someone hasn't bought it yet.

Yep! Assuming there will be a vert GEN V, THAT"S when I'll have to get serious. Probably best for me that's it's not here yet so I can save some $ by the time it does.

This, but a vert is fun too....that's why I kept both ;)

I wouldn't spend the money on a GenV if you've only put 2500 miles on your current one unless you have tons of money. I've put nearly that on my Gen3 and I've only had it a few months. I don't have enough money yet to own cool cars just to look at them. :-)
If you have the money then heck yea.....go for it!! I'd have one if the budget allowed it and I will have a GenV in a year or two most likely....but I'll drive the hell out of it.

If you're on the fence I wouldn't advise you to sit in one or even worse drive one.
That's what happened to me after my friend brought his over my house.
I'm a lot poorer now...:)

Thanks for all the feedback...that's what I was hoping for. I love the open-air feel of my IV but I also love the styling of the V especially the interior features. I've had II, III, and now IV and have enjoyed each for what they offer. Wish I could have both but wouldn't be practical to have both. I guess if I can find someone in the ATL area that might link up that will help with the decision I need to make.
On another note, are there exhaust mods out that give the vehicle a louder sound or is stock plenty? I'm in GA with emissions so I have to be careful as to what mods I can do.
Again thanks for every input.

I am all about a "louder" exhaust note. I've put Invidia systems on my S2000 and STi, but I gotta tell ya, the exhaust system on this car right out of the box is perfect. It's pretty loud when you fire it up, and quite honestly, I wait in my garage before I pull it out in the morning so I don't annoy my neighbour too much. It's quiet when you are cruising, but when you get on it, it's plenty loud. I won't touch mine. Any louder would be too much for me. Take one for a drive, roll the windows down, and punch it. You'll see what I mean.

Much bigger difference in Gen IV and V than is reflected on the spec sheets. I came from a Gen IV.
The Stock Exhaust in Gen V is much, much better than in Gen IV (Hoover Vacuum). Nevertheless, my Gen V just got the Corsa CAT-back system and boy does it rip! Like all Corsa systems, it is drone free at easy cruising. Above 2,500rpms on throttle and, well you know you have a performance exhaust. The Corsas also look like NASA quality Stainless Steel pieces. Combine this with the Arrow PCM's deceleration burbles and it is definitely beastly when you want it to be.
500 miles a year avg, you need to buy a genV so that maybe you'll enjoy the car more, amazing low mileage.
I've had gen 2, 3, and 4, all verts. Very reluctant to move to the gen5 coupe, but finally got tired of waiting on a vert that wasn't coming.
I love my gen5, like crazy. No regrets. Windows down, feels open enough, and my wife loves it twice as much as my other vipers.
I did Belanger headers to stock muffs and the sounds is wicked, you can highway cruise and it's not annoying in the least, stomp it and children cry and dogs howl, with the PCM it burbles awesome. I live in MD, an emissions Nazi state, no issues with this simple exhaust setup, I've test scanned on emissions and it passes just swapping the stock PCM back in, which takes literally 8 minutes to do.

I had a Gen4 and traded it for my Gen5. Do it, you won't regret it! I didn't drive my previous Vipers as much as I should have (like you), but I drive the Gen5 quite a bit.

Thanks again for all the input. I've not put many miles on mine simply because I usually prefer driving only with the top down and in TX and GA that gets brutal on some days. I think if I go with the Gen V I'd definitely drive it more. I think I'm just looking for a little more comfort without sacrificing some of the brute force I've loved with my past and current Vipers.
I'm working on a deal now so we'll see if the numbers make sense. If so, I guess I'll explore some of the exhaust options you guys highlighted.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Gen 5 looks better and is miles ahead in terms of the interior design/finish/quality. The only question is if it's worth the extra 20-30k for you?
I'm going through a similar "issue" right now trying to decide between another Gen 4, Gen 4 ACR or Gen 5. I love the Gen 5 but one thing I do like a lot about the Gen 4 is its simplicity and lack of electronic gizmos.
If you can do it financially, then why not?

One of the big considerations I took into account when deciding on my Gen V over other vehicles in this class was warranty, warranty, warranty. I'm good for over a year on the entire car, and until the summer of 2018 on the powertrain. I'm all about insurance. Hopefully you never need it, but when you do, man it's a good thing to have in your back pocket.

BUT, if you had to choose between one or the other, which would you take? I personally hope I never have to sell my 09 ACR, it is a bad-ass machine. Only add, never subtract. :D

The ACR is a bad ass machine and I absolutely loved mine, but I would take the Gen V all day and twice on Sunday if I had to choose one over the other. I wish I could have one in addition to my Gen V and Gen 1.

Just an update...finally decided to move forward with a Gen V and am picking it up at the dealer day after tomorrow...2015 SRT. Next up will be some sort of protection (Clearbra) and custom wheels. I'll lower it and look at headers and exhaust if I can find someone in the Atlanta area to do the work. Will post pics as soon as I'm able.
