I just wanted to create this thread to give a little feedback on the brake pads I recently had installed on my '14 TA.
Carbotech XP20 front, XP10 rear
These were installed with my stock brake rotors, and I've put 2,500 highway miles on them so far. After a couple hundred bedding break-in miles, they were noticeably more grabby and the brakes are very touchy now. To be honest, it makes it a tiny bit more difficult for daily driving, as the brakes now stop so hard that you have to be very light on the brake pedal. Just takes some getting used to.
I've not tried them on the road course yet, but I can already tell these will greatly extend my straights, allowing me to brake much later. That should result in some time off of my laps. I did a few 150 mph stops and they showed no signs of fade. These brake pads make it feel like I changed out brake systems, they grip so much better now.
Oh, and there are trade-offs too. Brake dust. Lots of it. Even when just driving it around. There is also a very faint squeal when slowing down from very slow speeds, but not bad.
Thanks for the recommendation Mark @ Woodhouse! Thanks for the installation Andy @ Tomball Dodge.
