Which tire conditioner?

Hi, I am wondering if there is anything on the market that creates a nice deep black finish without being very glossy and WITHOUT SQUIRTING half of the car when driving!! I am currently using Meguiars Tire Shine Gel und do wipe it off to a more satin look and to avoid the squirts. But doors get "contaminated" with the product nevertheless after each drive.

Anything I can do about it? Thanks!

Nothing ruins your day like the squirts while driving. Especially if you are like on a highway with no exits to take care of it. I find that whatever the product may be, you got rub it in to the tires, not just sliing it on. And then sort of buff it a bit. I have a sponge just for it that I can't remeber where I got. And I put just the smallear bit of product on there, and sponge it till it isn't too slick and way past being goopy. Then, no squirts at all.

For you folks who are using VRT, keep two things in mind. First, Adam's doesn't manufacture that product, they outsource it. Second, a gallon of of VRT cost $99.99 (http://adamspolishes.com/shop/exterior/adam-s-super-vrt-tire-trim-dressing-gallon.html). A gallon of Optimum's Tie Gel (what I used in the video I posted) cost $35.99 (http://www.optimumcarcare.com/obtgel.php?li=7). I would bet the title on my car that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between either product until you checked your wallet.

Great advice! I like a lot of Adam's products but some are highly overpriced.

I love the Meguires Tire Foam.

Really easy to apply, you know exactly where the foam is going and it doesn't sling at all.

Try it! Any autoparts store will have it. It doesn't last past raining or a car wash, but the tires look great.

My bottle of SVRT will last me a long time, but I also use it for trim, etc. Yes, it's pricey. However AJ, thanks for the tip, been a couple years since I've seen you!

I did my tires 2 years ago with dupli-color tire shine and they still look great well worth the time it took for the application.

Duplicolor makes paint. Is it like a paint finish?

Sprays like paint out of a can, duplicolor and armerall have a very similar product, the trick is to clean your tyre well before application, I'm just amazed how well has held up and that included some track days at COTA.

I always used to use "blech white" to clean tires. Was great at cleaning and basically leaving them looking new, not shiny or anything. I will have to look into the duplicolor treatment.

Got Adam's Super VRT yesterday. Had to order it from the Netherlands as I couldn't find a shop selling it in Germany. Quickly applied it to one tire last night. First it was some work to clean the tire from the greasy mess of the Meguiars product. Used Meguitars APC for this. I can already say that I like the VRT a lot over the Meguiars because it's thinner, not greasy (has a silicone type of feel), smells better (almond?) and has more matt look.

Now, what I still need to find out is if it flys off when driving and how it reacts when exposed to direct sun. The Meguiars seemed to melt in the sun, making everything worse...
