I want to get the shifter boot redone in Alcantara. Sadly since the "leather" is welded to the part, I don't think it will be possible
Replacement cost for this piece from MOPAR? $1200! The entire center console costs less.

$1,200? I better make sure not to abuse that shifter boot then lol.
I think the person setting parts prices for MOPAR is Dr Evil.

Lop off a zero and I'd agree. $1200 for the carbon fiber piece would be about right.

You have some stones pulling apart that car the way you do. I've never removed a piece of center console trim without either cracking the part or breaking a clip.

How much do you figure that the molding tools for those parts cost to design and build? ( Asking seriously. I am a EE not a manuf engr.)

I approve of this thread... but not the $1200 piece!

Without a doubt - VIPEREPIV sent me some instructions so it wasn't bad at all!

Molds aren't cheap obviously, but it isn't a terribly complex part that is made only of plastic (sans the faux leather)

Try JonB as well. I agree that parts prices for our cars are crazy, as they are for all the SRT vehicles. "Luxury tax".

I think I am more annoyed I can't do what I wanted to do more than anything!

i really need to buy a 3D printer
Did you read the item description very closely, maybe that comes with a transmission.
If you could get one "cheap" on fleabay, maybe you could experiment on it to try to do what you're trying to do ....

I took this when I got the part off - best view of where the clips actually are.

My suggestion is popping the one near the e-brake, then the one near the cig lighter, then you can pull and pop the hole piece up.
Ordered this trim kit to do it

Thank you, ViperSmith... however, I can't take all the credit, even though I loosened mine on my own, I believe it was Nineball who mentioned to me about using the plastic trim removal tool to release the rest of the front area. But I will take credit for the pic with the pointing fingers:orange:
