Just wanted to post for the members that are heading out in October for the SRT Viper track event. Aria resort & casino just emailed me a promo good from Aug 1st till Oct 31st. $79.00 bucks a night. The count down is on for what should be one hell of a good time. Hopefully we can all meet up grab a bite, bullshit and shoot some crap's. I have locked into Tuesday so I can finish off what the guys on Monday leave behind. Last day of the event I can already smell the tires. Hope to see everyone in Vegas.

I'm going down September 17. Maybe I should try and book a spot for the track expereince if there is any left. I can go down again in October. There is a seat sale on still, so I can't afford NOT to go again.

Flying out on Oct 26th and at the track all day on the 27th. heading home on the 29th. Yep that should be just enough Vegas time. How many of you are doing the October dates?

I'll be there on the 27th, I'll give Aria a try. Thank you for sharing.
FWIW, we tried Aria last year, and we're disappointed in accommodations and food. For that deal it's insanely good, but for Vegas in general, if you're familiar with Belagio, Venetian, Wynn, Encore or those types, Aria is a real notch down.
But again for a bargain like that it would awesome. Just saying for anyone that would going sometime and paying tourist rates.

I am good with what ever the group wants. I think it would be a great evening to meet up with the Monday group after their track day for dinner and meet the rest of the drivers for Tuesday's event. There are a few great steak houses off the strip.

I attended the Viper Experience 3/30. It really is an awesome experience! Top notch instruction & Instructor's. We had 18 in our class & 9 Vipers to drive as hard as we wanted too. There are 2 basic tracks. First, they set up an autocross in a huge parking lot. which is run in 1st gear bouncing off the rev limiter(on occasion, lol). Second, there is an 3.5 mile road course with top notch instructors. The first half of the day is a learning the car & track experience. The 2nd half is competition to stand on the podium at the end of the day. 1st, 2nd, 3rd. The best part for me was. How the instructors really pushed you to go after your last best time and keep improving on what you had learned from your last lap & instruction. Big Fun!! I have bragging rights of 3rd.. lol

Maybe you had bad luck at Aria? It would definitely be my choice WAY before Bellagio. Depends what you value though. I am not a big fan of the boring old crowd at Bellagio, maybe more my thing when I am 60 years old. Certainly wouldn't ever waste time paying for a cabana at the pool there. Although they do have the best buffet around.
Venetian is our fav overall, we do a cabana there, you get the Tao beach club experience right there without the crowd. Belagio is far better in terms of room and food, we don't do the pool there, yawn. Everything at Aria was meh for us, but we do high end rooms and pkgs, so I just mean by comparison. Aria is great on its own, encore and Wynn are top of our list too.
For the viper event looks like we're doing Venetian, we'll be there a few days. Track day is 27th, assuming there are any tires left in the cars from previous days. I have a marathon 2 days before so I'll be enjoying carb reload on some fine Vegas food and beverage. Haha.

FYI, I called Aria to check out the special you mentioned and it was ONLY for parties with a Player card showing appropriate levels of play; otherwise no special rate and no booking.
If anyone else has a line on a great deal on a 4*hotel on the strip for Friday, 10/23 and Saturday 10/24 let me know! Thanks and see you there.

According to the website the 24-25 are both still open and last ones for the year, the others in Oct are closed now. Looks like about 6 or so events, always in NV.

If you aren't extremely picky about where you stay, just go to hotwire.com and book a hotel. It is probably the cheapest deal you'll find, but you won't know where you're staying until you pay for it. It will tell you an area where your hotel will be though, so in Vegas it is easy to see which 4 hotels it might be. As long as you're good with either of those you just book it.

V: Understood. I will get a room no problem. It really depends on whether or not my wife wants to come to Vegas (not the track--she can spend the non-driver track fee of $200 having a spa treatment or shopping). There are plenty of rooms at 4* hotels for $200 plus resort fee, plus parking plus tax--just not $80 as posted above. If she comes, then I will go for 2 nights. Otherwise, probably 1 night.
My buddies who attended this event indicated that the track is about 15-20 minutes from the strip, depending on traffic. Since my day is on a Saturday, it should not be too bad, but who knows? I know Palazzo is at the end of the strip with some other places so that may be the ticket.
See you guys (and gals) on track!

Outer road course is nice.
The highlight for me was the hot lap ride with the instructor (Ricky) at the end of the last session. It really showed me how much more grip there is than I thought (how far you can safely push with proper ability) and how predictable the car is when properly driven even beyond traction--truly amazing.
All cars ran Pirelli P-Zeros @50psi!!!
All cars ran without breaks like stallions! Around 80F at the track and the hottest Oil Temp I saw was 227F during the Instructor Hot Laps. One autocross car needed the brakes bled (soft pedal) and possibly a clutch, but that was it. Just lap after lap, predictable, excellent performance.
Very nice of SRT/FCA to put on this event.
First Class facilities and excellent personnel. Also great to meet all of the Viper faithful who attended from all over the US.
Thanks SRT!

Would it be worth the trip, from the strip to the speedway? or no.?
If no, maybe I could meet you all on the strip someplace? I've had a dozen Vipers, and currently own a Gen5 TA. Always nice to meet some folks, and have a drink or two. :-).

Ron:
I would not go to the Track Experience if you are not registered, and cannot get registered. The facilities are top-notch but you will not really get to see anything and the Viper Track Experience is likely under orders only to permit registered attendees and registered paid guests.
Monday and Tuesday are still Viper Track Experience days at LVMS so you might email and call SRT (see earlier in this and other threads) to register if your car VIN has not already had a registration.
Good luck and have fun!
Unfortunately, I will not be able to meet up since I am flying home to SoCal today. There are still some others in town so hopefully they will respond. It is always great to meet others with understanding of the Viper!

I had a blast at it myself. Easily realize how slow you are when you run with the pro drivers. If you are quick and a track rat regular, it maybe not for you. BUT it was fun to hang out with other Viper owners for a day and relax. Buying an ACR would be stupid on my end, it would take me quite awhile to reach the limits of the base Viper as is.
The course at Vegas was a bit eh. It was hard to "get" the track. It was flat and everything blended in (asphalt looks virtually the same as the sand), so it was hard to get used to how it flowed.
Autocross was fun. Viper manhandles it easily. Even comparing it to the Jeep and other vehicles during the SRT Experience, it just dominates.
Dinner with everyone was great last night, nice to meet many and put faces to names.
And I won $900, so I can't complain!

Best I could muster was a 32.118. Our instructor ran a 31.97 in the morning, but the tires were noticeably greasier in the afternoon and I was fighting the rear sliding out a lot in my runs. Someone ran a 32.0, but crossed the braking zone line and had a 5 second penalty, still impressive though. The auto-x was super addicting for me, I could have just run laps all day long.

All cars ran Pirelli P-Zeros @50psi!!!
That's just crazy. They must not have a big tire budget for this.

That's a good time! Did you get 1st place? The best clean run I had was 32.24. One guy ran a 31.77 but hit a cone. I agree, the AutoX was fun and after riding along with the instructor on the road course, it's amazing how much you can push these cars!

I had a great time at the event. I've previously done the SRT Experience from my 2008, and rode in the Gen V when they did the driving tour, and it's always the same friendly group of drivers/staff that come out and help. Positive attitude, good with instruction, and just really energetic about the car and the event. Stephanie has to be my good luck charm, I always seem to pair up with her, which is cool because I also used to drag race motorcycles a few years ago.
We had plenty of seat time through out the day, including 12 laps in auto-x, 14 laps on the road course, not to mention a ride with their professional drivers for 2 laps. The entire fleet was 2015 Viper GT's, and sadly no ACR. Sunday probably had the best weather for racing (little cooler and less sunny) but I couldn't have asked for a better weekend to come and do this. Not to mention we had several friends attend the same day, and a great dinner with good stories at SW Steakhouse set up by Harold. Viper owners really are one of the big reasons I love this ownership experience so much!
Huge thank you to Dodge and SRT for putting on such a fun event for us owners, I always look forward to these types of events.
Thought I would share a few photos from the event, and a video. Couple more photos in the album HERE (https://www.flickr.com/photos/54485885@N08/albums/72157658123084493):

I did get 1st place with a 32.131. The road course group was taking a little longer, so they let us all take one more lap, but it couldn't count for the competition, which was my 32.118.
Such an awesome event. Everyone was so awesome. The cars were awesome. Did I mention it was awesome.
A ton of fun. As a non-AutoX guy who really blows it off as a silly event and why bother, I had a blast on the AutoX. Tons a of fun. So I take it back, I can see why people get addicted to it.
The road course was fun. They do limit you though. Wont let you break deep, because they are saving the brakes, not to shift to 4th and pull off throttle when you hit the limiter in 3rd, not to use second .... I did those things to see if I'd get a 'waiver' while on course and my guy, who was super awesome, said they can't flog the car like that so I was no-no'd and had to leave her in 3rd, etc. so I don't thinks it's great for road course instruction if you've ever been tracking before. You aren't allowed to push the car. But it's still hella fun, I've never been to LVMS so it was fun at least learning a new line and track. But make no mistake it was total awesome sauce.
On Tuesday the AutoX good times were just cracking into the 32s, seemed everyone thought it was a little slick out there, it was a perfect cool day. Instructors were in the 32.1-32.8 range, Hammer managed one 31.9 just to show off, Tom hit a 32.1. I hit a 32.3, which I was happy about considering my AutoX experience consists of VOI12 in my gen4, lol.
We have a wonderful group of owners and a wonderful group of support from SRT. And hey, it's Vegas, baby. I can't recommend it enough. If they keep doing it and you have the chance, GO.

That's weird, I got to use 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the road course towards the end of the day, working my way up from the morning. One time I even applied a little too much throttle early in 2nd on a sharp turn and had the back end step out (but I corrected it) and wasn't reprimanded. I would say your limits are probably higher than mine on the road course, so I was probably at 6/10ths while you drive 8/10ths.
I will say, having the opportunity to learn to correct these cars at the limit is very important for people like me. Seen too many guys fish tail and just give up and wreck on the streets. Very thankful SRT let me hone that skill more so this past weekend, in a safe environment.
Could've been the instructor. I think if I had Stephanie for ex I'd probably had the ability to push more.
My guy was talking about people going off etc quite a bit while we were lapping. I was hitting the limited in 3rd on the back stretch half the time and down the front and going into 2nd twice he was like just stay in 3rd, and he was in about the brakes every other braking zone, was really doing such early braking, so, I was also running up on the car in front of me almost every time and he'd have me let off and hang back and then go again so it was kind of meh, for that, but I take nothing away from it. I'm hoping for viper days next year to not be cancelled and where I'll be an overloaded sponge trying to learn from those guys. This was just an uber cool SRT bucket list event I'd recommend to anyone.

Your VTE stories are the same as ours for 10/24/15. I had never autocrossed before, do not think it is good for the car (especially first-gear only), and it is not my cup of tea. (My times were average). That said, for all of the people who had never been to the track or who were afraid of it, this was just awesome. They loved it and it really gave them confidence and got them involved. Also, no doubt some car control skills are involved and honed in autocross--so no dis is intended for you autocross junkies!
The road course was much more to my liking. True, it did not have elevation changes, etc. but it was still nice to air the car out a bit and hear what experts familiar with the car think about braking zones, gear selection, the line, etc. Anyone with much experience on a track had to dial it back for these short laps. Between a slow lap out, very, very, very early braking zones, and the desire of the instructor to stay safe, laps were very controlled (5/10th at best). The cars are even equipped with a rheostat dial to permit the instructor to dial down or kill the car power. As noted above, my favorite part was the hot lap so I could see the line the instructor followed, how the cars hooked up on and beyond the limit, etc. The extra speed near redline was also apparent.
When I asked about the incredible tire pressures (50psi and no adjustments after repeated hot laps, etc.), they said it was a SRT mandate to help avoid rollovers. I have never heard of such pressures other than on bicycles!

I also asked about the insane tire pressures they were running and got the same response! I felt it was also dangerous being on the track at speed with tires that were inflated to 55+psi
