View Full Version : Brand new GTS going one, going twice........
catwood
06-05-2015, 12:36 PM
The owner of the dealership is planning on taking this car for herself. If you contact me at catwood@carlburgersrt.com I can offer up this car at $97K shipped anywhere in the 48 states on MSO. Shipping would be enclosed and on open availability of the truck.
The Viper has been removed from the dealers website and doesn't show for sale. If you call them you won't get this price. And if you call and give them your name I can't honor the price either.
This is brand new still plastic on the seats no test drive vehicle.
Probably last chance to get a new GTS for this price.
You have to contact me.

I concur- stripe-less or maybe even silver stripes and this car would have been gone a while ago.

Does this sound shady to anyone else?
Owner of dealership plans to buy it, and nobody at the dealer will tell you it's for sale, but just send the money and you'll get a car no questions asked?

That is a great deal on a car with an original $154k+ sticker.
Thread was soft deleted until OP was verified. All good so have at it. My apologies for the delay Catwood.

What's holding it back is the tan interior, if it had a black or red interior this G5 would have sold long ago and for a higher price!

Catwood, Carl, may not be known that well on the voa, but is well known, long time trusted/respected on the SoCal and Ally forums. He first posted on that alley that he was began working for Berger months ago and wanted to help them sell the car and get someone in the viper community a good deal. This isn't a scam and maybe he gets a little commission if he finds them a real buyer.

Isn't funny how a tan interior looks great in a red Ferrari but not the case with a red Viper for some reason.

I love my red-tan RT/10, the difference is the body is solid color. If this G5 was solid red (or black), the tan leather would look just fine.

i've seen this car in person many times and it's amazing. it was on my short list before i pulled the trigger on my GTS-R blue GTS.
Agree. If it were solid red it'd have sold a long time ago. Still beautiful though. I'm sure pics don't do it justice.

The exterior is saying take me to the race track and the interior is saying take me to the golf course I suppose.

It's real deal. I've talked to Carl several times when I was looking to buy my car. I offered them $100K back in February when they were at $105K and was told then they would take nothing less than the $105. Now fast forward and they are asking less than what I would have paid.
The sepia interior is awesome with all the carbon fiber.

Thanks. I was going to go work at Carl Burger back in January when I retired but in the end decided to do something different and stayed working. In the end the GM and I have become friends. He drives a new GT3 and I kid him about getting out to the track...he won't so I tease him that he's afraid of getting bested by a Viper (he'd be schooled). If it sells, I'll probably get him to buy lunch :)
Anyway, it's true that the owner intends to buy it soon. and it is already pulled from their website.

If you're outside California, yes, shipped to your door. You deal with your state's tax and registration.
The only picture I have if from when I bought mine from my phone. I can get more on Monday and email if interested.

I have seen it and discussed it with Sam Potres (?), but he wasn't able to go this low. PM me if you're able to, this somewhat depends on what APR they can provide and the condition of the car after almost two years sitting on the showroom floor. I might have to reconsider this car now. Just to clarify the 97k also includes GG tax?

Is this a 13' or a 14' model?
catwood
06-06-2015, 11:36 PM
Correct...the sales guys don't have permission to sell this low. This offer only valid if you know me and are part of the Viper forums. Hence posting here and at the alley. If you've gone to the dealer in the last couple of days and talked to a sales guy I'm not sure I can hold the price either if he has your name.
If you are outside CA, it's $97K shipped to your house within the other 47 states.
Shoot me an email. If your name isn't on registered by the sales guy we should be ok. Lots of activity right now on it due to the price.

4.05% here in VA. I set myself an arbitrary limit of $100k, so after sales tax I'm about $900 over, but for a fully loaded car I find that worth the extra.

4.05% is flippin sweet. I'd take that amount in a heartbeat compared to our rate here. Don't lose the car over 900 bucks if it's what you want and especially if that includes shipping to your house. My checkbook is currently stopping me from being seriously in the market for a Gen V but this seems like a good deal on a loaded and brand new GTS (I.E. Brand new warranty).
Good luck to all interested parties.

If you're in VA you should check out Ourisman in Clarksville. They have a Red, but with graphite stripes to match the wheels, beautiful car, pretty loaded GTS, and they advertise it at $99k, but Jason will will sell it and has a tag in the showroom for $89k. That's a steal you could drive over and look at, even test drive I bet. Also have a Stryker green GTS he said they'd sell for about $97k. Jason is the man there if interested. I've checked out both and they're sweet and local. Just FYI.
I guess I should've PM this, sorry, didn't mean to derail the thread or compete on OP, just offer FYI to local guy. Apologies.

That car is $90K advertised but it has about $12K less options on it $126K MSRP vs $138K MSRP. If it fits your budget better, go for it. Personally my only regret on my personal Viper is not having the aero and carbon fiber packages so I'm biased.

Yea, they're $10k less in person. Went there sat, they haven't changed the ads yet according to Jason but will, owner just reposted the showroom tags this weekend, great deal to jump in before it gets updated online.
I added aero to mine and love it too, if you regret not having it I strongly recommend adding it, easy upgrade and looks with perf to boot. Nice.

Yes, but the value estimate for taxes in VA plummets year after year. My s2000 was valued at 10k for taxes last week, by the State, but I can sell it for 24-25k right now.
I've seen the one at Ourisman on sale. It's a great price but I think the stripe color is terrible compared to white on red. I'd prefer the sepia leather since my Lexus and S2000 both have black leather. I've sat in a red on sepia GTS and it is perfect in my opinion. Either way I will only buy a car with the Carbon Fiber interior package unless dodge sells it separately and can be dealer installed (the only thing I won't do myself, I'm a master at breaking clips and cracking trim pieces)
Carl, I'll reply to your followup email in the morning when I get into the office.

True. Strange indeed. I was looking at 360's before I bought my car, and the red/tan combo is the best looking and most desirable. When I settled on my GTS, I got it with the black interior. You're right. The tan just didn't suit it and I couldn't figure out why. I guess subconsciously my brain says it's not a Ferrari, so it doesn't work for me.

My friend was trying to buy that same car 2 weeks ago and I talked to the sales manager about the REd/silver stripes. He would not go below 102k, 99k plus destination and gas guzzler tax. We offered 100k even and he did not take it. My friend bought another car. Last week This dealer called me back to see if we were still interested. Too late , but I can't believe they went down to 89k. It's a great deal!!
