If i remove the cats on the viper will i have a check engine sign? and is the cats welded or removal able without cutting it off? and if i remove it what benefits will i get? will it spit flames?

I had a check engine light come on
my high flows were welded on, so we had to cut them out, put a straight pipe in, $50 for everything.
my interior is much cooler and I like the sound better
I haven't seen flames yet
