That's one thing I hate about the track. People spewing liquids from their POS's all over the place.

So antifreeze is allowed on a road course but not on a drag strip? Just asking...

Great recovery, way to save your 100K+ sports car!!!!
I wonder how much track experience the TA owner has?

Great save. It's nice having tires that sticky that will still scrub all that speed and save the day.

My greatest fear while tracking is hitting coolant or oil on the track while driving the Viper....hence I usually track my "throwaway car" during public track days, LOL.
The one thing the driver of the Viper did great was look where he wanted his car to go....notice he was looking out the passenger side window (and checking 180 degrees to see if he was going to get T boned) which is the direction his car ended up. Great driving and vehicle awareness.
It is very hard for people to look where they need the car to go and not keep their eyes locked on an upcoming wall, etc.....the car will go where you are looking.

Nice save and interesting how the skid stayed static for some time. I am glad someone mentioned the POS cars dropping fluids! (and also going off track due to over-cooking corners, ziggin instead of zagging on corners, dropping parts, etc.) I ran 2 weeks ago and they compressed the run groups to put the top 2 together. I ran in a group of probably 40 cars on a big high-speed track. I was one of maybe 4 cars on street tires. Most had wings, and most looked like $5,000--$10,000 old M3s or 3 series. Some pretty fast, but I really would prefer to run with other sportscars with some "skin in the game." Next time I will!

Quick reaction time! Just in time to pull into the pits and change the pants.
Wow!! Really great driving

I've been (unplanned) sideways around curves on the street at speed... barely had my pulse raised. Depends on the person I guess.
Growing up in Pennsylvania, I learned how to drift around turns on purpose and sometimes not on purpose lol.
Luckily there aren't trees, oncoming traffic, and deer on the race track.

Great save indeed! I watched the video a few times and great job with not mashing the brake pedal mid drift and applying a little throttle instead, takes some heart.

That doesn't look like the driver's first spin. Great control of the car. Nice situational awareness and reaction. :dude3:

Exactly right. Stomping on the brakes like a lot of people do when confronted with a scary situation would have only excasterbated that spin. Nice job.
Race cars no but street cars yes. Full time race car can't get through tech with anti-freeze. No way to keep it out of HPDE because they are street cars. Street cars run antifreeze on the dragstrip too!

Luke, once you get bored of going fast around a track - you might have a career as a drifting driver. :)

Yeah not too proud to admit that either, my video would've been full of colorful language and a great close up of a wall...
