My insurance policy on my ACR runs out in a month. I am looking at changing insurance companies to get a better deal. Right now I am paying $1580.00 a year for $75000.00 coverage. Does anyone know of a better deal?

Hi Paul,

Give me a call later. No idea if it will be a better deal but I have a fatastic agent that I have used my entire life that is really really exceptional.

There's a lot of insurance threads. Costs seems to be very location variable. It's worth spending some time online getting bids from several insurance companies. I use Geico in NYS for 2 cars and the Viper portion is about $1,400/year. But others local to me have received quotes ranging from $1.250 to $6,000. I hate car insurance!

My wife and I use USAA.

Trading in her Mazda3 and then adding the Viper netted an $8 per year increase.... 8 bucks.... for 100k/300k coverage. That's a deal if you ask me.

I use USAA as well. However, its a military insurance and unless you have served, or have close family that has, you wont be able to get it. If you can, its a really good insurance company.

Be sure not to shop just for price. You probably already know this but the replacement value should be 'stated value' or 'agreed value'. You may get a good rate only to find out you are insured for book value, that may be a whole lot less than actual. There are those on here that know a lot more about that than me, so maybe they will chime in.

I agree....insurance sucks. Having said that, its important who you use since it can make a huge difference if you need to call them in

Good luck

I pay $967.10 annually with USAA on my 14 TA. It's actually less because we get a pretty hefty dividend check every year.

Always had the best rate with Grundy, and as far as collector car insurance goes, they don't keep track of your mileage either...

Grundy here...$860/year. Be advised, if you have a <25 year old in your household they won't write a policy for you.

I have low-mileage insurance through State Farm. There's some rules for the extra discount, it can't be your primary car, you have to sign an odometer statement, sometimes they send you odometer statements in the mail that you have to sign and return. I don't know the amount off hand, but it's around 500 every 6 months (I'm 33).

USAA is great except they don't do agreed value. They may have started now but they are farming/turfing it through a third party if they are.

My insurance agent has been my friend since we were 5. I'm glad to give you his contact info. He and his company regularly do high value packages. He is located in Scottsdale but if course can handle your policy from anywhere. You won't be the only high value car they have seen that someone wants an agreed value on. They do it all the time. It's kinda their specialty but they can obviously write all your cars. As they wrote my truck too. Please let me know if you would like his contact information. We have been friends since we were 5 years old so in insurance he is one of the few people I will vouch for.

I think insurance is something where you should see what your options are. Never hurts. Let me know, and good luck.

What if I regularly bring someone new back to the household who is under 25? But she is usually gone by 9 or 10 in the morning? Does at effect my policy :)

Completely amazed by this one, but just switched from Geico over to Allstate for all my insurance. Was getting pissed at the increased rates at Geico where they have gone crazy. They wanted something close to $1,900/yr for a 2010 Viper. Under Allstate, and with a lower deductible, it's about $950/yr. Pretty pleased with that pricing...

That's good pricing. There are so many variables. It's not as simple as year and age of driver. Thefts within miles of the garaging address, home values, their algorithms are so tough to figure out.

I have low mileage/stated value collector car insurance with State Farm for about $132/mo. The Stated Value is 45k on my 97 so that's probably why the overall insurance is much lower, in addition to having several line item discounts.

Yup... and I took advantage of about every possible discount I could... full pay, multi policy, Wise track (or whatever it is they plug into ODBII)... just for my Expeditions, paperless statements, etc. Saved almost $2k by switching all my policies over AND thay included adding the Viper on. Unbelievable!

Yikes some of these policies seem a little high, especially for collector car insurance.
I have Grundy agreed (not stated) value for 100K at $950.00 a year. In New York too.
