It's amazing how much they look like doppelgangers in that shot.

Still, as much as I fawned over the Gen II in my youth...I do think I prefer the Gen V now.

Not that I'd turn down a '96 GTS if I got the chance, though...

I love comparing the II and V. It's amazing how opinions vary from person to person on which looks better. Both Winners in my book !

The gen2 has gorgeous curves, a little more pronounced. I like curves! But for me then gen5s lines and attention to the little detailes in the design win me over

I bought the Gen V exactly because it resembles the Gen II!!
I'd almost prefer having the fog lights but the HID provide more then enough illumination.

Great to see the Gen V and Gen II comparison in pictures. On the Gen V they definitely tried to recreate the Gen II lines. I've often noticed how noticeable the gap is on the transition from front hood to the front bumper is on the Gen V. It seems like they could have done a better job making the transition look more seamless.

Have to agree I only wanted one car in my whole life and it was a gen 2. Had it for over 7 years and loved it. I told all my friends the day I saw the first gen v pick. " Houston we have a problem" I was hooked at first site. There will have to be something out of this world to get me to part with the one I have now. It's the best of both worlds

Pretty much sums up my feelings after seeing that Stryker red GenV when it debuted at the NY Auto Show. I told the guy I was with that I will have one some day.
