I traded in my TA 1.0 this week for this.

You might see my Black TA #16 for sale at BJMotors.biz / ViperExchange. I've had a voucher to use for a while now and had been waiting to see how things shook out for the 2016's. I loved my TA but I am getting ready to do our Heads & Cam, Active Suspension, and Big Brake Kit so I didn't want to pull all of that stuff off the TA and start over. I decided to use my voucher on a 2015 Comp Blue Track Pack GT. I took delivery from Bernie this week. So far i have buffed the clear and added CQuartz UK to the paint work. The color is incredible and the upgraded stereo and alcantara seats and trim pieces are a nice touch.

I'll give my impressions between the two as soon as I can put some miles on the new car!

In Tejas, do you only pays sales tax on the difference between a trade and the new car?

In CA, they nails us for 100% Sales Tax on the new car and no credit for the old car--so a $10,000 or so hit on each purchase. Just another transaction cost, but at least some deterrent (unfortunately) to trading around.

Really anyone who bought new pre voucher who either got a great deal (fire sale GTS) or had a low optioned SRT trading up to a newer year with the voucher should be a free trade. IMO the only thing missing on the new one are 4 more vents on the hood. I really like seeing 6 :)

Lol, I couldn't disagree more. It's surprising, when all the Gen V Viper came out with all the press coverage, they were always testing a GTS, and I really wasn't that fond of it.....
I wasn't even in the market for one, till I saw an add for a Competition Blue SRT Viper, with the 6 vent hood, but I bought one two weeks later, as soon as the seat lowering kit became available.

Again, it's all personal preference, and no offence to any GT and GTS owners who love their cars, but those long scallops behind the single hood vents just look odd to me, the 6 vent hood looks "Viper" to me, and fills up some of the scallop.

I test drove my first Gen V yesterday and the seat lowering kit is a must in my opinion! I'm only 6'1", but my head only cleared by an inch or so and the viewpoint out the windshield was too limited.

We just installed our first one on a TA 2.0 at ViperExchange and put a local ZR1 owner in it that is 6' 4" and he looked at me and said I can now buy a Viper :D It does make a difference. It is a little limited if you run Team Techs but it still makes a reall nice difference.

Please don't tell people this! We already have more out of state people F-ing up our real estate market and cost of living. I lie to them all of the time. Winters are -60 F and summers are plus +120F, 85% humidity year round. There's shit in the street from all of the horses and coral shootouts are a daily affair with innocent bystanders dropping like flies.

Well hopefully you are getting to drive the car some and getting a good base feel for it. Given all the changes coming you need to be comfortable with the stock feel to get good comparison's on the upgrades.

Yes I had the opportunity to run the backroads this weekend with Mike A and his TA. I can tell you that the braking obviously doesn't have the same initial bite that I liked on the TA, but that's to be expected with the smaller swept area. The suspension in both track and street mode is also a little softer without the TA's spring rates. Still exceptionally capable but the suspension and power level will change shortly.

I'm actually getting a baseline dyno today to see where the car is.

Yeah it's a great color. Working at ViperExchange I get to see all of these colors together at once and the comp blue always stands out even in a room filled with Stryker colors.
