Hi guys,

So I've had my 2013 GTS for a little over a week, and I've noticed that the car hesitates at partial throttle when I'm on my way to work in the morning. It seems fine in first and second, as I go through the gears, but it is very pronounced in third gear at about 2000 rpm. I live about a mile away from work, and between here and there I have a stretch of road where the speed limit is 60km/h (40mph). It is here that I maintain that speed for about half a mile in third and I can feel the car lurching and hesitating. Typically the engine isn't at full operating temperature yet so I'm wondering if it is a cold engine issue. I do let the engine warm up for a few minutes before I drive it, and it is kept in an insulated garage. I'm wondering if I'm fouling the plugs? The engine runs absolutely perfectly other than that, and it only has 2000 km on the car (about 40 hrs on the engine). Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm not sure that it does it when the engine is fully warmed up. Thanx.

PS: I have no codes and I have searched for an answer to this but I haven't found any Gen V cars with this problem.

I don't think you are alone in this...my Gen 4 does this same thing to an extent, and is related to the drive by wire system for the throttle bodies.

Thanx for the reply Steve M. I read the thread and that is exactly what I am talking about. I don't think I noticed it when the car is fully warmed up, but I really notice it on the drive in the morning. Hmmmmmm.............

My G2 had same issue. It is the pcm searching the fuel table when the map varies. It is more pronounced when the throttle is between load and coast. The elec throttle has to aggravate the issue.

Gotcha. I am going to try and experiment this morning. I am going to let the car get fully warmed up to operating temperature (about 84-87C from what I've noticed) and see if the problem still exists. I'll report back with my findings.

There have been PCM updates, I would go to a dealer and have them check to see if yours is all up to date first.

Oh, ok. Thanx for the info. I had no idea. I just bought the car from the first owner with 1200km (750 miles) on it, and I wouldn't be surprised if the updates have not been attended to. I'll make some phone calls and see if they can determine what has been done/hasn't been done to the car by the previous owner.

Also, I just took the car out for a drive at full operating temperature, and the hesitation is much less pronounced and almost imperceptible as opposed to when it is cold. Thanx for the input guys!!!!!!

Another update. I called Derrick Dodge in Edmonton and provided them with my VIN. Apparently there are three recalls for the car that need to be done. Two are with respect to the door and one is the seat track position sensor. So that is something I will attend to. As far as the PCM updates go (i.e. "reflash"), the car isn't in need of that, so that isn't the issue. Cheers.
