That is either an old picture, or that car is a superformance kit car. All 6 (5 still living) of the real ones are accounted for.

That's the one that just surfaced a few years back.

Sad thing is, I've stopped many times and tried to buy orpaned cars and been told "it's not for sale, I plan to fix it some day"! Years go buy and some day never comes. There are probably thousands of cars like that all over the world.

That's always the answer sadly.

2001 is a little more than a few years :)

Some of those are cool, but some of them deserve to be dead, lol.

As a lover of 30s-50s cars, I've heard it more times than I can count. There's no reasoning with people like that either. I've even had friends offer to volunteer their time to take some preservative/preventative measures so that if "some day" ever comes the vehicle is still salvageable, and be turned down every single time. Simple stuff too, like a gallon of ATF down the carb to help preserve the engine, or putting the car on blocks so the frame/floor don't rot away as quickly.

The worst part is that when the old coot keels over, the kids usually just haul the car to the scrap yard, even if it's still restorable.

I just got my eyes cleared from the tears since the original post. So .....whew!....that's sad to see all these warriors behind bars.
