View Full Version : What ACR parts are you gonna put in your gen v?

Looks like the ACR is gonna be a beast..But not everybody is gonna buy a ACR
However looks like some of the parts from the car look like they would work well on other lesser vipers.
I'll start:
ACR style rear wing ends plates,
Wheel and tire setup, ...thank you ACR for helping another tire maker come to market.
Steering wheel
Exhuast tips are supposed to flow better.?
It'll be interesting to see what the brake setup goes for, there are many I think would up for CC brakes, but the price may be too daunting.

Those brakes may be overkill for the street. Although I did have someone ask me today if CC brakes were an option, and I said, they may be soon! But MUCHO expensive. I too agree, that it's nice to have another tire option, assuming they make fronts in the 18 size as well,

I'd love CCB for no brake dust, but my guess of $12k for no brake dust is more than I'd want to pay.

ACR end plates won't bolt to a TA 2.0

That's exactly what the fella wanted - no dust. Me, doesn't bother me much, and with my Sidewinder 2s, it doesn't show as much! The CC brakes do look very cool however.

His the ACR new 19" 19" rim combo due to the new front Calipers and rotors? They seem like they just fit the new calipers.

rotors alone are $4100.00 ea.

Viperexchange Big brake kit for the gen V is well under 10k. I have 4 on the shelf.

I think the fins like the Gen III/IV should have been on the GenV. The new ACR style looks good!

Might be easier to just do a center band paint scheme on a TA 2.0 for a balanced street car with ACR styling. Can that be ordered now ?

Dont forget the longevity of a CCB setup, I read that c7z (z07 package) rotors would last 4-5 track days.

Diffuser...wheels...
I would like to add some of the alcantara bits to the interior(steering wheel, etc) and that rear diffuser is tits.

The rotors last nearly forever. The pads wear out and are costly. I believe the Z07 carbon pads are $1100? set. A lot of people are under the false impression that carbon ceramic brakes work better than steel brakes, but that is not true. Usually, the bite and braking are better with steel brakes and good pads, but the problem with steel is that they get hotter with each lap and begin to fade eventually. That is what the carbon addresses, they don't fade. The added benefit of the carbon is the lower rotating mass of them.
I'd like the suede wrapped steering wheel and the diffuser on my car.

Steering wheel and diffuser. I love the aero but it would slow my car down so much

I hope and pray that the ACR color scheme with drivers stripe is exclusive ONLY to real ACR's and they don't have a bunch of lookalike's cruising the street.

Any guesses what the diffuser will do to track stability on our TAs?

I too like the wheels and diffuser as an option, the big aero would be too much for my GTS springs.

It doesn't sound like the diffuser will be drop in from the description - I think it's going to be totally different.

I did 5 days with my 15 Z28 with carbon brakes..rotors no problem, pads were starting to wear down though...never ever had any brake problems even with a 3800 pound car.

From what I gather biggest benefit would be straight line stability and it cleans up the rear aero profile helping the back stick..Looking at my TA the underside is already pretty flat and I'm sure it doesn't generate much lift..

Don't think anybody posing..
I don't want anybody to think my cars a ACR, but I would not mind using some of the factory engineered parts to make my car faster or better equipped.
The aftermarket support for Vipers isn't the strongest.
These aren't Hondas home boy ;)

Agreed. I have no desire for an ACR, but some of it's performance goodies would make our lowly SRTs and GTSs even better still!

Not much I think
Now that huge wing though, that's another story.
Keep in mind the diffusers intent is to be as close to the ground as possible..that may make it a tough aero part to live with in street use.

The removable hood louvers and reduced air pressure is an interesting addition. It looks like this is more of a ViperExchange/Riley development. The GTS-R's that ran in the 2014 Tudor did not have these vents. Also the GT3-R for sale on the driversrt website does not have these. Looks to be more recent with the TI cars...either way, it looks like Dodge is getting R&D from all programs to make this a true race beast!

Yea, that's it, the pads! They must have been driving hard because a z28 is a good 300lbs more than a c7z.
this is just what I remember reading at CF.
I wonder how much carbon rotors weigh, if I was a hard core track guy on a budget I would settle for two piece rotors, better pads and better fluid swap.

Carbon rotors weigh about 30% less than steel. Allan
With the suspension giving 3" of height adjustment, you could set it high for street so the aero parts don't scrape of bang, and drop her for track duty. I'd bet if you did the splitter etc and didn't do an adjustable suspension ride height you'd be hating life quickly on some streets.

Just to remind everyone that carbon ceramic brakes were discussed in development for the Gen V, but SRT was able to achieve their performance goals with steel brakes. To get the same performance out of carbon ceramic brakes, an increase in wheel diameter was necessary, negating the weight saving from the rotor.
Naturally, I was looking for the article to reference, but I can't find it. All the same, that explains the 19-inch front wheel. I can't wait to see the numbers from this car.

That is why they are removable more than likely just for the track days. You will even have rocks flying out of them.

Interesting, nobody has mentioned what I think will turn into the most purchased item, the tires, we have been given another non-Pirelli tire option with these new Khumo's . After collecting nails in two back tires in non-fixable places and while I do appreciate the low prices offered the club through the end of the year, another tire option would be great. These must be very sticky to be selected as the OEM option on the ACR. Just hope they make an 18" option for the front for the rest of us.

I wish they would have used a 315 on that 11" front rim and had a little more sidewall height also, Hoosier R7's come in the 315/345 sizes you would need and will likely be cheaper than the branded Kumhos (I love Kumhos though!).
