It's finally finished. I had my local paint shop lay down the drivers stripe. I'm very happy with this hood. The quality+fit is top notch. Most importantly Seibon's customer service. They shipped it the next day I ordered it,and emailed me a tracking #. They even called me asking me if the hood came in ok,and if I was happy with it.. With that being said. Pictures don't do any justice. The hood looks freaken awesome! I can't wait to go back out on the track!..

Damn Lee, looks bad ass. Good contrast with the silver, and the black wheels go with the hood. Can't wait to see it out on the track again.

Looks great, and I agree they are beautiful in person! Mine got here this week and my painter asked me if I was sure I wanted him to paint it. lol

My car is silver as well, but I love my stripes and they're graphite, so nobody will ever get to see the pretty cf underneath.

Back in Black weighed his,and said that the factory hood was 40lbs . The Seibon hood 30lbs. The Seibon hood to me feels lighter. More like 15lbs..

Thank you Todd. Yeah I can't wait . This and testing the new big brakes..

Cool man glad you got yours. BTW is the paint shop going to blend the paint in with the fenders, and front bumper? Or is he going to just paint the hood, butt match it?

With 40k on the car, I'm getting the whole thing re-painted. I'm 99% staying silver with graphite, but I can't get the Lambo Balloon White (it's a pearl white) out of my head. I LOVE it on the Lambo with the satin clear, but my painter said there's no way he would go with Satin. One, it would cost me a fortune because it's a bitch for him to get right (has to come out of the gun PERFECT bc you can't sand or buff it), and two, it would be a bitch for me since I actually drive the car. For the same reasons, no buffing or anything because then the satin will become shinier and won't match. The thought in my head is going with the Balloon White, but with a regular clear, and then doing silver stripes.

That's beautiful!! Fitment looks great too. Did it need a lot of adjustment to get it to fit so well?

It was my understanding that Seibon recommends hood pins in the front corners with their hoods. Is that true of this hood and will you be using them? Never heard from anyone who actually had one. It's the reason I stayed away and bought the "other" carbon fiber hood but in the pics the finish of yours looks better.

You should, i never lost a seibon, but i did lose a VIS(chinese crap) hood i had one of my civics years ago. Latch hook let go where it was epoxied on the hood.

For some less ricey hood pins check out aerocatch pins http://www.aerocatch.com/

Since the Seibon carbon fiber hood is lighter. You cannot use the OEM struts. The only way is if you re-valve the hood shocks. I think Towdawg is in the process of doing this. A few of us is waiting for his report.. Some underside pictures..

The striker pin on the Seibon carbon hood is riveted on just like the factory hood. The hood shuts, clicks, and locks just like the OE hood. Seibon recommends hood pins probably for liability IMO. I did a few "high speed" runs on my friends private property, and it was good. Here's a picture of the Seibon striker plate..

Hey Back in Black in two months you can get rid of that hood prop stick of yours. I talked to Ryan at Seibon and they are coming out with a nice carbon fiber hood prop stick that's adjustable..

Have you noticed any deflection or "bouncing" of the hood at highway speeds (or above?). Interested in this part but past experience with c/f decklids/hoods gives me pause because it is disconcerting to see them flexing when driving on the highway. Looks so killer tho.

These CF hoods are awesome looking and adds a nice touch but how do you repair those nasty rock chips or scuffs (in an area not covered with clear bra)?

Easy. You have the whole hood clear bra'd. I'm getting my new hood wrapped next month by Premier..

A update on the hood.. Thank's to Towdawg I found the correct hood struts to work with this carbon hood.. It works perfect! Just like OE..

Here's the strut number 6170..
http://i753.photobucket.com/albums/xx171/rapid25_2012/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps72487c68.jpg (http://s753.photobucket.com/user/rapid25_2012/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps72487c68.jpg.html)

I also tested this hood on two track day events at Laguna Seca.. This hood does not need any other reinforcements.. No hood pins, or a rope to secure it.. The hood does not even fap at high speeds, and I am flying on the front straight.. Another reason for this is the design of the Gen 4 hood.. It has those 6 large air vents, and any air that does goes underneath the hood will get vented out immediately.. No chance of any air pockets etc.. It's not like a hood on a Mustang for example, but looking at the front bumper and where the hood is.. The air flows over the hood to begin with so no worries..

Here's a video of my last track day.. You can see how stable the hood is.. It's just like the stock hood..
