Hey Guys...looking for some help with a issue I have...
When I driving in 4th gear, @ 1700rpm, 36-38mph, my car has a stumble. It's like the TB's close or cutting out. I can drive through it and everything seems fine, but its for sure in the 1700-50rpm range. I thought for a while that my foot was coming off the gas, that's the feeling it is, but I've been very aware of my foot lately and that ain't it....
Any suggestions...I'm wanting to do the Arrow CPU, but think I need to address this before doing so.....
Thanks.!!
Mike

Now that I think about it, my car did the same thing. I just thought that it didn't want to be in that high of a gear at that speed.
Hopefully the similarities between our cars stops there.

Sounds like you are allowing the skip shift to force you into 4th gear.
It also sounds like normal function for an engine that had the skip shift get used; Corvettes, Camaros and Viper do the same because of the skip shift.

Both Gen V's I've had has done this. Only does it when you are cruising at low speeds? It is very slight but it does feel like I got off and on the gas.

A couple years ago I drove a 2013 and what you describe was really noticable. It felt like it was surging in that rpm range. During that test drive I was in 4th gear at app. 2000 rpm and 45 mph. I was driving on a rough road and thought my foot must be on and off the gas pedal causing the surging, but it never went away even on a smooth road. What I thought was odd is when I engaged the cruise control in the same gear, same rpm and mph, it went away. For what it's worth, my TA doesn't do it. Makes me wonder if one of the updates that has been released addressed this issue.

Thanks for the reply guys....
pdv nailed it perfectly, it's at low speed cruising....like you're on and off the gas.!! Very subtle, but there.!!
I guess this really isn't and issue the, maybe just stay in 3rd at low speed.??

Hey Brian.....
At 2000 I'm ok, even over 1800 or 40+ it's good. I was thinking about calling a local dealer and doing a re-flash of my CPU, and see if I'm up to date on software, which I bet I'm not...

I am sure when Mark J. sees this thread, he will have the answer. Before taking delivery of the White TA, I spoke to Mark and he gave me a list of the updates that needed to be performed. This was last fall, so there may be more now. Hope this helps.
PCM UPDATE 18-044-14, IPC UPDATE 08-074-14 and UPDATE HVAC 24-005-14

The G2's did the thing, in that case it was the pcm trying to control the rpm as the car's MAP changed. There are major changes in MAP at low speeds when in 4th gear, you are going from low to high vacuum and the fuel map fights those changes.
All manual shift cars experience this condition to some degree. If you watch the STFT it will show wide swings during the described scheme. There might be another root cause, but, the odds are the reason is the aforementioned.
It is also quite possible that srt will alter/improve the fuel map via a flash in the future.

Can't say I've ever noticed this. But I don't lug my cars around at 1700rpm. I guess the simple solution would be, don't lug the car.

You are not lugging an 8.4 litre motor at 1700 rpm... trust me

How many miles on the car?
First 700 miles the gen v's tune is optimized for engine break-in idle is close to 1000rpm.
After 700 miles idle will drop slightly and after 1000 miles the car will drop to a normal idle level.

Thanks guys.!!
Brian...I can bet none of those have been done on my car. Gonna check into it...thanks.!!
Garron....I believe I'm at around 850, maybe a bit more.!!

I've never noticed this but I also never cruise in a gear where the RPMs are below 2k. For the speeds you posted I would be driving in 3rd and not 4th.

Mine did the exact same thing...I didn't worry too much.
Now that you mention it...the Arrow PCM fixed that issue completely. Nice!

I've noticed that same flat spot where the car feels like it surges and then pulls back. Mine is like yours and happens around 1700-50, however, I've noticed it in 3rd gear. I've had the PCM upgrade and never noticed it BEFORE the upgrade.
