The only problem is that it may not make sense to drive it anymore. You can get a real nice driver for more than $10k less. That's pretty much a collector piece only at this point. That looks better than new. Gorgeous !

With that few miles in 20 years, I would wager you $5 vs $50 that the head gaskets are dried out and on the verge.....

Unless / Maybe an obsessive fanatic did start-warm-drive 2 miles per month, and they might hold up longer.....that woukld equate to 500 of the 504 miles

The lucky buyer should plan on replacement if they plan to drive HARD or FAR.....

And that's one of the main reasons I didn't persue it further. I am looking for a gen 1 with 6,000-20,000 miles on it.

Could be the seller was gambling on values and is getting out of the car at a price to move it. I understand what your saying, there are some people who enjoy the buying experience and being the "curator" for an amount of time and then sell and do it again. I have a few motorcycle customers who do it.

Most cars don't start becoming "collectible" and gaining value until they hit the 30 year old mark. So give the Viper some more time and I will bet it will increase in value. Now is the time to start picking up these cars while the value is lower.

Taking the collector speculating out of the mix, the time is right for buying these cars, Gen 1 and 2 specifically. The car you get for the money is really impressive and can be modded as little or as much as desired.

A lot of cars sold for well over MSRP too. I remember the very first one I saw was advertised at around $70K. I still have a picture of 12 year old me standing next to it at the dealer too. The Is and IIs will be the most sought after collectable Vipers some day, but that's still a ways off. For now, even with such low miles, I feel that that car is a bit overpriced. Because a relatively high number of people bought them as "future collectables," it's not ultra rare to come across one with so few miles.

Jon hit the most important issue right off the bat! Extremely likely it will need the head gaskets done, and there is a 1500 -2000 bill awaiting the buyer right there. Took in a 300 mile 94 years back that had been in a collection, and sure enough there was coolant leaking down the side of the block from the original head gaskets!

I bumped into a guy at cars and coffee this past weekend with a 1992 #148 or something with less than 3k miles on it. He said that he had a lower number 1992 that was totaled by the dealer I think.

I friend of mine in Appleton WI has a 92 with 30 delivered miles on it and a 93 with about 30k.

Add in new tires, fluid changes as well unless it's going to sit as a collectors' piece.

Thanks for the offer Leslie, but miles that low actually turned me off to the car knowing what I would have to put into it to get it going. Kind of looking for something with 5k-10k miles on it.
