Valve Covers are Painted

It was more work then I planned but they are painted and installed.

I have a green car and didn't like the red valve covers. I thought about painting them body color but decided to do them in silver and I am happy with the look.

I normally like the original red, but this looks great matching the intake. Are the letters polished or?

The letters were polished stainless which I added to the red valve covers. I removed them, painted them black and reattached them after I painted the covers silver.

I like it looks pretty good. You can get the letters to just about the same shine by some sand paper then polishing.

Good call op. I think it kinda opens it up to others who don't have red cars to see that silver, or even a dark gunmetal would look good on colors where you don't want to do too much green or yellow or blue.

Did you do anything special to the polished stainless steel letters before you painted them? What type of paint did you use (high temp?) and how is the paint holding up? Love the look.
